I was always safe when you were around. You were reckless, but safe.

You stood by me, even when you should not have. Whenever I turned, you always there. Whenever I was hurting, you always let me cry in your strong arms. You always backed me, even if you did not support my decision.

You made me laugh in the worst of times. Even though you were surrounded by darkness on most days, you were always the light at the end of the tunnel. You were the angel with the black wings. Rough around the edges, but smooth on the inside. Once your barriers were broken down, you were just someone who was just putting on a mask. You had a painful past that you never let out.

You kept part of yourself locked up in chains. You kept part of yourself bound. That part of you was never to escape, never to surface. Oh, how that part of you longed for the days to be let outside into the sunshine and escape the night.

You, you, you.

You always had people guessing. No one knew what to expect from you. I did not know what to expect and I still do not.

You always gave me room to let me spread my wings and fly. You were always there to catch me when I fell. You were just always there.

And now you are not.

I miss you so, my fallen warrior. I want you to return and scoop me off my feet. I wait for you to return from some unknown battle. I wait and wait, but I know that do matter how long I wait, it will not change the cold hard truth.

I miss you and long for you brilliant smile. I long for your colourless attire that you somehow managed to make it like a rainbow. I miss your sting and your bite.

I just miss you.

You, my fallen warrior, are never coming back.

And I wish you would.
