Taking Control
"If you want to leave, then go." she dryly responded, an obvious remark that there was no intention of stopping him whatsoever.
There was silence between them.
Sasuke Uchiha sat beside Hinata Hyuuga, his back facing her after declaring that he wants to break-up. He stared at the ground stoically, contemplating her answer. It took him long before he absorbed the idea, it was abnormal and unexpected. She neither stuttered nor fidgeted. When he realized, his lips twitched and finally broke the silence in annoyance, "You're not stopping me?"
He raised an eye brow, peeking at his side. Hinata blinked impassively.
She was not his fan girl, what did he expect from her? Cry? Begged for him to stay? Hinata was almost always submissive. It was only the Uchiha who gets in her nerve. Their similarities attract them but their differences repulse them. It came to the point that their petty arguments became too hard for Sasuke to handle. Hinata had patience but also finds it a waste of time. She, herself is surprise on how much emotion the Uchiha can draw out from her. Sasuke dealing with that side of Hinata where others' are not familiar with is irritating. Somehow, part of her, wants this as well. Logically, forcing him to stay will make things more complicated between them.
For Sasuke, this is unusual. It was too simple and clean. He was used to being chased by drooling lascivious women. How can he forget? He liked Hinata because she was not one of those "women", fan-girls exactly.
"Do you even love me?" he asked, not out of curiosity but to argue.
"Yes. Of course, I do." She answered not looking at him. He questioned her feelings countless times in the past.
"You do?" He frowned unconvinced, "It looks so easy for you to let go."
He was wrong. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but it hasn't even started yet. She only took a risk.
"It's up to you if you want to stay or not…"
"That's it?" it was a question of effort. He lowered his head, kept still and quiet.
Hinata believed that there are certain challenges in every relationship and theirs' are no different. This time, however, she made up her mind to appear strong and independent. She hates the idea of men thinking her as weak, fragile or feeble, name all the synonyms possible but that was long ago, it took a lot of time before she finally changed herself.
Somehow, she felt she owe him an explanation. Moving closer to him, she slowly traced her fingers from his back to his front, wrapping her arms around him. He did not move. She rested her head to his shoulder looking at her side.
"Letting go doesn't necessarily mean I fell out of love."
When he felt her touch him, he felt a lot better. They, after all, in nature, were never the extrovert type.
"I changed my mind," Sasuke abruptly move to face and give her a kiss, "let's stay—together."
She sighed and gave a smile, 'keeping him is a challenge'.
A/N: Boys... they're not the sun. Some of them thought the world revolves around them. I hope I justified Hinata's character. This is a one shot, but who knows, I might add some chapters. Share me your thoughts and/or ideas. Anyway, Read & Review.
