She's all that
xxx Disclaimer: I do not own 'Pretty Little Liars' xxx
She's not as smart as Spencer, not as artistic as Aria, not as ambitious as Emily.
With a sigh Hanna got out of her bed and shuffled to the bathroom down the corridor.
She frowned when she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror.
Today it would take much longer to transform her into the glamourous It-girl that everyone had got to know her as.
Hanna had barely slept last night, still being too nervous and anxious about the things that had recently happened.
She hoped that a shower would at least help her to regain some of her strength.
After leaving the bath with a towel around her hair, she opened her closet and switched through it. It seemed to her, that all her clothes had been worn at least twice and she thought of taking the last lesson off to go to the shopping mall.
In a corner she found an old pink blouse, she'd already forgotten of. It had become to large for her, but Hanna had kept the garment as a reminder of the old days as 'Hefty Hanna'.
Back then she'd loved to wear this particular blouse.
Hanna remembered wearing it on one of the last days, when Alison had been still among them.
Alison's closet was as huge then as her's was now. Hanna had often watched Alison pick out clothes, envious of all the things her friend owned.
Alison would stand in front of a large white-framed mirror, testing the different skirts, pants and shirts on her, admiring herself. From time to time she had turned around to face Hanna sitting on her bed, asking what the other girl thought of the combinations.
One of Ali's favourite sentences to add after the question was, 'I'm sorry, I can't borrow them to you, but you've to understand that you're just too big for them!'.
It hurt everytime Alison spoke these words to her, but Hanna was always eager to prove herself. So she just smiled at her friend , the golden girl that everyone adored, and told her how good she looked.
Nowadays Hanna would have retorted with a cutting remark and just left the room.
She had already picked her semi-new YSL pants and a ruffled blouse to match. Now she would have to care for her hair and make-up. Sitting down on her dressing table, she went through the many cosmetics displayed on it.
She'd worked so hard to step out of Alison's shadow. She'd lost weight and started to dress more self-confidently.
Hanna had never intended to become 'Alison 2.0', although she wondered, if some of the other students saw her as just that.
If someone needed help, they'd turn to Spencer, if someone needed somebody to listen, there was Aria. If they needed somebody to be on their side, they could be sure, that Emily was right there.
If someone needed advice on fashion or make-up, well, why not ask Hanna?
She never really felt as if she was only the clown of their group, the shallow and materialistic one. But sometimes Hanna wished, that people would confide in her as much as they confided in her friends. She had the same strength, the same wit and endurance.
She was not the next golden girl to end up on a pile of self-made lies. She would get through it all. 'A' would neither break her nor her family nor her friends.
If Hanna was one thing, then it was loyal.
Having dried her hair and put them in soft blonde waves, using dark eyeshadow and a pinkish lipstick, she was pretty much ready to go.
She stood up in front of her dressing table mirror, taking in her appearance.
She put on a wide smile and self-consciously turned around to grab her bag.
Spencer might be the clever straight-A student, Aria the edgy artist, Emily the sensitive sportsgirl and she definitely was the always positive thinking fighter.
