Alis volat propiis, She flies on her own wings.

Geez, how can I think of that at this time? I look up from the snow ladden ground to my little sister. How are we gonna pull through? This year's winter seems to be one hell of a problem. I take another look at my sister, shines a small grin back to me that melts my heart.
"Come on big brother." She calls back to me, I rise my pace to catch up to her. I catch up to her in no time.
"What now" She asked.
"We are going to look for water." I tell her. This land is unfamiliar, this may be a challenge.
"Found a stream!" My little sister cheered.
"Good job Sylvie!" I congratulate her. She flashes another adorable smile.
"Great, now all we need is some grub." I smile back to her," Go find a good shelter."
Sylvia hops off to find a good place to stay for the night, I head in the direction of some rabbits I spotted. I was in the middle of chasing a tall hare when I heard Sylvia scream in fear. No! I sprint toward the sound of her voice. I arrive to a large cave, Sylvia was surrounded by grizzly bears.
"Sylvie!" I yell to get her attention," I'll distract them, then you run!"She nods and readies to bound off, I howl at the top of my lunges gathering the bears attention. Sylvia jumps away as the grizzlies turn towards me.
Great, now what?
I run the opposite direction of my sister, the bears follow me.
Crap! I hadn't planned this far.
The path I was following stopped in a dead end.
No where else to go...
The mountain walls rise indefinitely upward in front of me. The bears form a wall of muscle, teeth, and fur, blocking my way out.
Last moments... wonderful, think of Sylvie, it'll dull the pain. I think hopelessly. Man, I wish I was born an alpha.
The largest bear's paw connected with my left hind leg spraying blood all over the rocks. The next strike came from the smallest of the three. He bit down on the nape of my neck, I was able to sway and avoid a fatal bite. I struggled to gain footing getting a few feet before the last bear clamped his jaws on my left hind leg. Stars start to cover my vision as I lost consciousness. The last thing I remember was a large howl from an alpha male.

"Winston, he could be a rouge wolf!" A female voice erupted in my limbo like sleep.
"But Eve, we just can't let him die." A masculine voice replied.
"*sigh* Winston, think reasonably, he bears the marks of the forsaken."
"Eve, they look fresh."
"So?"
"If he was branded like so, maybe he escaped."
"That'll make him more of a threat, they could be looking for him."
Their conversation was interrupted by a cry of terror and fear, mixed in perfect demonic harmony.
"Simon!" Sylvie screams," Si!"
She was shaking my body, I could see her do it, but I couldn't feel it.
I manage to croak out," Sylvie..I-I'm fine."
"No, you aren't!" She cried. I use the last of my remaining strength to brush her hair out of her face.
"Looks like it's the end for me, be safe sweetie" I whisper.
"See Eve, how could this warm soul be a rouge wolf?"
"Okay... Take him to the fields."
"Hey, little pup, are you okay?" The masculine wolf asked Sylvia.
"No! My brother is dying." She whimpered
"Calm down little pup, he'll be fine."
"What if he doesn't get better?" Sylvie asked.
"No need to be so pessimistic Sylvie." I smile up to her. A group of Omegas rush into the clearing with a long piece of bark. They hoist me onto the bark and start for the eastern packs den.

A small ray of light shown through a crack in the ceiling of the cave. It dove directly into my eyes.
Geez, even the sun has it out for me. T.T
The wolf know as Winston walked into the cave.
"Good morning! Little pup is asleep." He smiled. I rush to sit up but immediately fall due to my injuries,
" Don't strain your self." He warned," Our best medic had trouble sealing those wounds." I look to my hind legs and see bandages.
"You were lucky. Alphas die from those kind of wounds." Winston sighed.
"Heh, and here I thought my luck was running out." I laugh, triggering hot pain in my hind leg.
"Oh, he talks!" Winston laughed along with me," Eve, come here." The female wolf walks into the den and yawns.
"Oh hello, you sleep well?" She asked politely.
"I suppose, but it didn't feel like sleeping." I told her," It was almost like an out of body experience."
"Hmm." Eve nods.
"Is Sylvie okay?" I ask changing the subject.
"Oh little pup?" Winston asked," Yes, she fell asleep half an hour ago. She wouldn't stop crying."
I bolted up, ignoring the pain. The den turns into a large cave, with the light of dawn shining through the opening. Sylvia was curled up in a small patch of grass. I lay down beside her and kiss the side of her head, signaling that I was here with her. Her restless breathing calmed.
"See Eve, how could we break these two apart?" Winston looked to his spouse.
"We couldn't."

The hours pass in a haze. A few alphas entered the cave, talking about valley politics and such. No one bothered us. Eve brought in meat and berries.
"Sylvie, time to wake up." I whisper into my sisters ear. Her ears perk up and she yawns.
"Morning brother." She says in a monotone voice.
"Morning." I reply.
"I know this may be a bad time, but how did you end up in western territory?" Eve asked with berries in her mouth.
"Oh, well, we were lost." I replied honestly.
"I could see that, but how did you get here?"
"Me and my sister were traveling west."
"Why?"
"Fear of death."
"By who?"
"Rouge wolves"
"Were they chasing you?"
"No."
"Then why run so far? You don't seem to be from Jasper Park."
"Sylvia needed to be away from that situation."
"What happened?"
I looked away as tears started to well in my eyes. Eve took that as a sign to stop asking questions.
"Never mind, I didn't mean to pry." Eve waved the awkwardness away.
"Well, it's about time we leave, get ready Sylvie." I smiled.
"Wha-what!? With those injuries?" Eve stared at me, wide eyed.
"We've taken up to much of you're guys time." I say.
"No, it's fine, but can you at least stay until you're wounds heal?" Eve asks politely.
"It would take the whole season." I counter.
"What's the rush?" Eve asks.
"Uh, hmm, I forgot..." I say. Reaching my own verdict," Oh what the heck, why not?"
Eve smiles at me and Sylvie," Now, would you like a cave to stay in? We have a few free ones."
I shake my head, but Sylvia was thinking for the both of us and said "Yes."
