Red loved Blue. He did. As big of a douchebag he was, the boy was Red's best friend. He had been and would always be his best friend, even when it seemed they couldn't clash more. In fact, if he was gay, he'd gladly grovel at Blue's feet. But he wasn't, and by the way his rival tried to take discreet peeks up Leaf's skirt, Red was certain he didn't exactly swing that way either.

Yet they had found themselves like this. And as much as Red loved Blue, they were not this close.

"Blue."

"What?"

He glanced down at his hand, then back up at him. The boy still didn't seem to get the vibe.

"Why are you holding my hand?"

Blue grinned and grasped his hand tighter.

"Why? Does it bother you?"

If Red knew anything about Blue, he knew that he was notorious for manipulating conversations to his favor. He was the kind of guy who could answer trick questions correctly, who adored inquisitions without an escape. It was a gift and a curse, he supposed; unlike Red's own personal fanclub, empty, half-hearted promises fueled his admirers' desires. Not that Blue minded the attention.

And so, with a heavy sigh, Red shook his head.

"Good! We're buds, right? Right."

"Why are you doing this?"

Blue scoffed, "Use your eyes! Don't you notice that nobody's piped up yet? How much do you wanna bet it's just 'cause we're famous? We could probably make out in the middle of the street and no one would say anything. Plus, your hands are freezing. It's a win-win."

"So you're holding my hand... to see if people will react?"

"Yeah," Blue said. "Why? You think I'm into you or something?"

Red simply kept his gaze fixed on the road ahead. Where was Leaf?

"Wow, you're filthy! Only you'd think like that! I swear, if you weren't a walking ice cube..."

"So you're not just holding my hand because you want to?"

"Pfft. That'd be gay."

Make out what you will out of this. Depending on how you look at it, this may or may not be Namelessshipping. :3
