A/N: My very first fanfic! I hope you enjoy it! Remember, reviews are cupcakes!
Her lips graze my ear.
"I miss you." I push the golden strands of hair back from her face and my fingers dance over the smooth, supple skin of her cheeks. My fingertip alights on something cold, wet. A tear: the physical manifestation of our separation.
"Don't cry," I whisper, staring into her giant, cerulean orbs. The tears are swimming around her irises, as carefree as she used to be. One escapes and flows downward. It travels over her cheekbone and into the hollows of her face. I lean forward and kiss it away.
"I'll leave her."
Her breath catches in her throat.
"What?"
"I'll leave her. For you. For us." She leans away. Her tangled, yellow locks swing into her face, interrupting her troubled gaze.
"Why?" she whispers, looking as startled as the day I met her, but not nearly as exuberant.
"I don't want you to miss me."
