okay, so I started writing a nadashi fic last month sometime and I never got to posting it! here's part one!

author's note: I haven't seen BH6 yet, so everything about BH6 characters is solely based on the BH6 stuff tumblr has taught (and spoiled for me).

Nani Pelekai huffed as she ran down the streets of San Fransokyo, pulled by her dog, Stitch. Pleakley and Jumba, her parents, had convinced her to take Stitch for a walk while her little sis, Lilo was at hula lessons. Nani now regretted agreeing, as Stitch was running faster than the leash could withstand. She knew it was just a matter of seconds before the leash snapped, allowing Stitch to run away. She groaned just thinking about it, as Lilo would kill her if she lost Stitch. He was part of their ohana, their family, a term that mattered a lot to Lilo. Determined not to lose him, Nani began running with him. But with a gasp, Nani stubbed her toe on a rock and fell down, causing the leash to snap. Barking happily, Stitch ran down the block and turned down the corner. Nani got up and brushed off her scraped knee. "Crap." she sighed.

"Stitch! Stitch, you stupidhead!" Nani yelled. She had been walking around for a half hour, at least, with no sign of Stitch. As she walked past the modern, futuristic building she recognized as the tech. lab of S.F.I.T, San Fransokyo's most prestigious college, she saw a flash of bluish fur run behind the building. "Stitch!" she exclaimed. She followed the flash until she bumped into a large, fat, white creature. "Watch where you're going, stupidhead!" she growled. She lifted her leg to kick it, but a boy about her age jumped in front of her.

"Hey! Don't touch him." he said. His voice was surprisingly smooth and deep. Nani looked at him, surprised. He was kind of cute- slender, with messy hair hidden under a hat and deep brown eyes.

"I'm sorry, I was just looking for my dog and I bumped into this.. thing."

The creature blinked and waved a hand. "Hello. I am Baymax. Tadashi created me. I am your personal healthcare assistant."

The boy grinned. "I'm Tadashi, by the way." Tadashi stuck out his hand and Nani shook it.

"Nice to meet ya. I'm Nani." she smiled. For a minute they just stood, smiling at each other.

"So, uh, would you like some help finding your dog?"
