AN: I saw a picture of this on facebook and I just had to write a story. Thanks for reading.
Kelly looked up and said, "So I can ask Santa for anything, Mommy?"
Shannon smiled down at her daughter, dressed up in blue mittens, a green scarf, and large jacket. "Anything," she said. "And, if it's a really good, Santa will bring it to you."
Kelly smiled and looked back at the Santa sitting in the mall's North Pole. She was next and she was going to ask him for something she really wanted.
The elf turned to her and smiled. "You're next, honey," she said.
Kelly walked up to the man in red and smiled shyly.
"Would you like to come sit on my knee?" the old man asked, smiling at her. Kelly nodded and walked up to him, sitting on his knee. "And what is your name?"
"Kelly Gibbs," she said.
"That's a wonderful name. Have you been a good girl this year?" Kelly nodded again. "What would you like for Christmas?"
The girl opened her mouth and then closed it again.
"Go ahead," Shannon said. "Tell Santa what you want for Christmas."
"Okay," Kelly said. "Santa, I want only one thing this Christmas."
"Oh?" the old man said. "What would that be?"
"I want my daddy home for Christmas," Kelly said.
"That sounds like a nice wish," Santa said. "Where is your father?"
"I don't know," Kelly said. "He's a Marine and was sent somewhere. He's gone a long time and I want him home. That's all I want for Christmas."
"Are you sure? That's all you want for Christmas?" Santa asked. Kelly nodded her head. "Well, you're in luck, Kelly, because I have a present for you."
Kelly looked up as someone came around the chair. She smiled and squealed before throwing herself into her daddy's arms. He was wearing his camis, but she didn't care. He was home.
"Merry Christmas, Kell," Gibbs said.
"Merry Christmas, Daddy," she said. Kelly looked over her shoulder. "Thank you, Santa."
AN: Hope you enjoyed the story. Thanks for reading.
