Lucky day twenty-seven!

"Let's see, if we add these two numbers together and then carry the one…"

"Hey, Miyuki!"

The pink-haired student was startled out of her thoughts when her name was called. Turning to see who had called her, she found a smirking Konata standing next to her.

"Ah, Konata. You scared me!" exclaimed Miyuki with a sigh.

"Really? I'm just surprised I was able to get your attention," replied the blue-haired girl with a grin. "Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to play some video games with me?"

"Like Solitaire or Minesweeper?" asked Miyuki, tilting her head in such a moe way.

"I was think more along the lines of my Nintendo DS," said Konata as she pulled out the handheld system.

"…Does it have Solitaire or Minesweeper?"

Konata, with a frown, lightly rapped her knuckles on Miyuki's head upon hearing this question. This caused the taller girl to let out a slight yelp. "No, you airhead. This has actually games on it. So, want to give it a go?"

Miyuki readjusted her glasses. "I don't know, Konata. I have a lot of schoolwork to finish."

"Oh please. With as smart as you are, I bet you could get the work done in no time! So just take a break and play some games!"

"Well…"

"That's the spirit!" exclaimed Konata as she thrust the device into Miyuki's hands.

"…I guess one game won't hurt," replied Miyuki as she turned on the DS.

A few hours later Miyuki was still playing the game. She was completely focused on the game to the point that everything around her might as well not be there. Konata was actually amazed by how absorbed into the game the moe girl could get, especially Konata was the one who played video games the most.

Soon the victory fanfare from the game sounded off, signifying that Miyuki had actually beaten the game.

"Congrats, Miyuki," said Konata with a smirk.

With a blink, Miyuki looked at the game and then the clock to see what the time was. She was surprised by how late it was. "Ah! How could I have played for so long?!"

Konata rolled her eyes at the worrying girl. "Don't sweat it, Miyuki. Like I said, you'll get your schoolwork done in no time with your smarts."

"Th-That's not the point!" cried Miyuki as she quickly went back to her math.

With a sigh, Konata retrieved her DS from the frantic girl. "Then I guess I'll leave you to your work then."

"Yes, thank you…and thank you for letting me play your game, Konata. It was actually quite fun."

"No problem, Miyuki!" replied the blue-haired girl with a grin before she left her friend to her work.

Later on, Konata was amazed by the score Miyuki had achieved on the game, lamenting the fact that she couldn't have the high score in her own game.

Lucky Star is one of those series I've really wanted to watch/read, but never had the time to do so. So did I keep Miyuki and Konata in-character despite never seeing the series?
