His first real memory was the hospital he woke up in. It had white walls that were illuminated by white celling lamps. The bed he lay in had white sheets and he was dressed in white clothes. He lay there for a long time trying to remember anything. Nothing came to him. He could remember thing like science and languages, and many other things, but he could not remember anything concerning his own past. He could not even remember his own name.
His thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of a white clad woman. 'A nurse' he remembered. He tested the word in his mind trying it out over and over. Somehow the word did not feel right and instead felt somehow foreign, as if he never used it before.
The nurse did not seem to notice the fact tat he was awake, or even if she did notice, she did not seem to care about it. She simply continued checking the different bottles that were attached to him by a long flexible cord, that ended in a needle that was buried in his arm.
'Funny' he thought to himself, noticing the PVC for the firs time.
The nurse finally seemed to notice that he was awake, as she sparred him a quick glance and murmured something under her breath, after which she left the room without looking back.
Shortly after the nurse left an elderly looking man entered the room. His snow-white clothing seemed to almost in one with the sterile-white walls of the room. He had a half amused smile on his face, he looked like he just herd a joke he had herd a thousand times, and yet it still did not fail to amuse him to a certain extent.
The man, who was most probably a doctor, looked upon him, and the glanced down on his notepad, before finally looking back to him before he spoke.
"You are an extremely lucky individual," he said, the half smile never leaving his face. "You were fund unconscious by a hunter in a forest. Who knows what the grim would have done to you, if he hadn't found you? You have been in a coma ever since you have been brought here, and though your condition was perfect you would not wake up."
The term grim seemed somehow familiar to him, yet he could not quite put his mind on it, it seemed an illusive though somewhere deep within his mind, fleeing from him like a fish flees from a child's hand.
"I must ask you if you remember anything of what happened?" the doctor asked pulling him away from his thoughts.
After shortly hesitating, afraid of the sound of his own voice, he said:" Nothing"
" That is quite common after a traumatic accident" the doctor said, his half amused smile still glued to his face. "The mind often erases or clouds a traumatic memory." After waiting a wile he added "Can you tell me something about yourself? Speaking about past and the events tat led op to an accident can often help uncover the hidden memories."
Looking up to the doctor he said." I am sorry, but I remember nothing"
The man's smile slowly faded from his face as the information sank in. He looked down on his pad and scribbled something on it. "It is quite uncommon, but not unheard of" he said slowly "The hunter found two things with you. One of them was a sword" he said, he seemed to think for a while before he added. "The other thing he found was an empty notebook, with a name written on it. Until now we assumed it was your name, but we hoped we could clarify it upon your awakening."
"What was the name?"
The man, who seemed twenty ears older than when he walked in said:
"Ethan Lightbringer"
This is one of my first fanfictions, and it is an idea that has been lingering on my mind for quite a while, as you can see the story is pretty short, but in the future I hope to make longer, if I decide to continue. This is only a small project with the goal to improve my writhing. Hope you enjoyed. Remember R and R.
