Hello everyone.

I was trying to write a story to follow on from Secret's Safe With Me, but ended up with something completely unrelated.
So, here is the little drabble that I came up with.

I burn, I break, I try to do right
You ache, you kiss, you curse
But you lie with me tonight

- The Staves

She has never felt like this before, so utterly in love with the night and all that it holds, always waiting for it, wishing for the secret hours that belong to lovers only. Every second of the day clouded with desire, a deep and unwavering need for Castle that is almost too great to bear.

She longs for the passion, the lust, the weight of his body as she lays open and unravelled beneath him, the breathless call of his name catching in her throat and drowning in all that they feel for each other, begging for hands that roam and lips that sear. Love and laughter whispered against salted skin, nipped and bitten, soothed with a trail of open mouthed kisses. Every move that she makes met by his own, matched, made better; her entire body touched, tasted, breathed in until the world is alight with the wonder of Richard Castle.

She yearns for the peace and tranquillity that follows; the moonlit hours of the night where anything is possible, the magical cover of darkness knitting together their hopes and their dreams. His heart a steady drum of life beneath her palm, fingers curled against the warmth of his chest. The hands that she knows so well exploring every molecule of her being, the ink stained tools of a writer never able to stay still, always spiralling words of love and life along her back, secret poems that he is still too shy to say aloud. The thrill that runs through her veins as they whisper one last "I love you" into the cool air of the night, and the comforting heat of his body pressed against her own as sleep overtakes them.

The night is their reverie. The harsh reality of the days long forgotten; the victims, the cries and the terror, the monsters who stalk, who hunt, who bring them to crime scenes day after day a distant memory, the real world too far away to matter at all. Because the night is theirs alone, a beautiful place belonging entirely to their love. The perfect moments of awe and wonder that make life worthwhile. Just Rick and Kate, and the beauty of the night.

End.

What did you think?
I know that it isn't much, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback that you have.

Thank you for reading,
