Eeyore; Someone dealing with loss.
They say time heals all wounds, time and space. George didn't agree; he thought that they just dulled the pain of the past. George was proof that wounds didn't heal because of time, and not just his ear. Fred's death was still all too painful to him; he could still feel the hole that had been ripped from him. It was duller, but the wound was still there. That's how George knew that the statement was wrong, and it was how he could tell who had lost someone and who hadn't.
After Fred's death, George couldn't cope. He'd shut himself away for weeks and refused to talk to anyone. He couldn't look at himself or his family, everyone reminded him of his twin. He couldn't go back to work for 6 months; looking at the shops contents, everything he'd made with Fred, just filled him with pain instead of the joy it used to. He hadn't made anything new since.
George was still in pain after losing his brother but he no longer felt empty. A year after Fred's death George had met up with Angelina. They were both still grieving, and found comfort in each other's presence. They got married two years later, much to the disgust of some people. They were met with the opinion that it wasn't the right thing to do, that it was disrespectful to Fred's memory. This hadn't stopped them though; they weren't getting married for Fred. They had met up originally to find some comfort after Fred's passing, but after spending time together they fell in love and both decided that Fred would want them to be happy. That is how they had decided to get married.
Now George had finally started to relax. After 17 years he had a beautiful wife, a brilliant son (whom they had named after his twin and was already living up to his namesake), and a daughter on the way. Despite all this, George still felt like he had a piece of him missing and still occasionally had nightmares of the war. Fred II had started at Hogwarts this year and before he went, George had decided it was time to tell him the truth about the war. Fred had cried when George told him what happened to his Uncle Fred, but had vowed to live up to his name. He said that it wouldn't be Hogwarts without pranksters, and had immediately recruited James Potter to help him.
George had shown Fred around the shop properly on their trip to Diagon Alley to get his Hogwarts things, and showed him what products were best for causing trouble. Fred had immediately started telling him how they could be made better and coming up with ideas of his own. George thought that when Fred got old enough he would work with him and create new products, his twin wouldn't have wanted the shop to recycle the same old things for years. Angelina had tried to coerce George back into creating products, but she just didn't have the Weasley imagination.
Fred wrote to them on his first day at Hogwarts, telling them that both he and James were in Gryffindor and they had already started making plans for the first term. The second letter George got from Hogwarts was for Professor McGonagall who was now the Head of Hogwarts. She said that she was disappointed in George for allowing Fred to use his products for his pranks and for pulling James in, but she was also pleased to see that they were living up to Fred and George's standards and their first prank left no traces that it was them.
All in all, George was very happy with his life. Maybe, just maybe, he decided that time did heal wounds; or let them scab over at least.
