Yes, it is the final story to the final Pure Horace Mantis Challenge. :( ---- yes I'm that sad. It's been awesome writing these stories since they helped me out of my long writer's block so thanks to suburb's for creating the challenge! I still don't own JONAS, this may be the shortest story ever, and will it be Macy/Nick, Macy/Kevin, or will another story come?
Challenge #10 Opening Line Challenge
7. He/she blamed it on the ducks.
He blamed it on the ducks. Mainly they were the closest things he, Nick Lucas (a person three points shy of a genius), saw. Otherwise there was no other explanation as to how he manage to blurt out "I love Macy Misa" right there in the middle of the park when Kevin was feeding those darn ducks, Stella and Joe under the tree studying, and Macy right behind him. He felt their eyes staring at him. He guessed he felt like he had to just announce it to the world, not bottled up in his mind and mouth. Thanks to him, it's no longer a secret.
It all started just a small five minutes ago, he was sitting on the park bench reading a required book for English class, 'Romeo and Juliet'. To Nick, it was basically the tragic story of two lovers who set their fate just by being in love. Nothing special really. But as he passed the chapter, Nick became more interested. Juliet being told to marry Paris by her parents, the secret that she's in love with Romeo..... he thought we was actually gonna cry. It was so heartfelt. Nick put the book down with his bookmark it in and thought back to his situation: 'Kevin is in love with Macy and Macy loves Kevin back. But Macy seems to be interested in me and I'm interested in Macy. But what if she chooses Kevin over me. Then I would have to go with Kevin's suggestion to Joe earlier this year: sitting in the house in our room alone with the cats from Ms. Carson's backyard.'All of a sudden he stood up on the bench and screamed from the top of his lungs, "I love Macy Misa!" Kevin paused his duck feeding to look at Nick with a confused look on his face. Stella and Joe looked up from the books to question Nick's sanity. As for the small brunette, Macy was standing right behind him. Once Nick saw her behind him, his mouth opened in embarrassment, looked around for an excuse, and said the first five things out of his mouth:
"It was the ducks' fault!"
The ending is pretty lame but whatever. So I guess this might lead to another story? What do you think? (There's a poll in my profile so if you can, vote.) R&R and once again thanks!
