E̶n̶j̶o̶y̶!̶ Have a Happy New Year!
A New Year
All around the world, nations were celebrating a new year.
Whether they were waiting for it to happen, or it had occurred already didn't really matter. Time zones were irrelevant. It was just a celebration of joy and animation, for maybe the new start was the most wonderful part of the entire year, whatever that actually meant. For, despite the fear of the unknown lurking in the new date, it was also a chance to begin again. An attempt to right the wrongs of the year, and forget the problems of the future, maybe just for a passing moment.
Humans were fleeting things, and tended to celebrate every little event. Nations, as they grew mature, found that this was slightly odd. And irrelevant. But, though some of the oldest nations had experienced thousands of years, there was still a tiny aspect of human inside them, and every year was important. Sometimes, during the worse years, they would look back and wonder how they could celebrate such a horrible event with such festivity. But, they could not look into the future, and despite all those predictions of horrible fortunes ahead, and promises to change that will come, they always took the winding road with their eyes tightly shut. And maybe it was possible to open them, after all.
This wasn't a time for such thoughts. This was a time for jubilation! This was a time for mirth and happiness and pure, beautiful joy. This was a time for parties with friends and foolishness and possibly drinking a little too much. This was a time for, despite all the world had come to and all that was horrid nowadays, pleasure.
Human emotions were hard to tame. Now that there were still so very many problems in the world around us, they still found a time to celebrate all that was wonderful, too. For it is senseless to look at all the bad things piled up in front, when quite unseen but still immensely there, was all the good and marvelous and so very excessively magnificent.
Each nations embraced their little human side and ignored all the pain of the past and future, enjoying the wonder of everything around them.
A truce of value held in the hearts of everyone as they approached a new dawn.
Despite all the fear and despair, maybe this New Year will be a good one.
So that was short and stupid and a little cheesy but I wanted to do at least SOMETHING so here you go.
I'm off to celebrate!
I hope you enjoy this New Year!
