AN: Just a momentary lapse of sanity...

There were two huge worms crawling on the floor.

No, they were not really worms, but that's what two people in sleeping bags easily looked like in the dark of the night. And yes, they really were crawling.

Despite it being a necessity under the circumstances, neither of the occupants of the sleeping bags had actually felt comfortable about sleeping in the same room with each other for the very same reason – their hidden feelings for each other – and as such they had fallen asleep with a wide space separating them. But now that space had already diminished to less than half of what it had been, and it seemed that the sleeping figures still weren't satisfied with the situation.

One of the sleepers, a girl with long bushy hair, gave a frustrated sigh in her sleep and then she turned from her side to her stomach, closing the gap between them even further. And almost as if he was replying to her, the other one, a boy with a messy mob of dark hair, murmured something in his sleep and started twisting. First he moved his legs and then he twisted his upper body to the same direction, looking a bit like a snake slithering on the grass slowly, and he was brought even closer to her.

Now the two were almost close enough to be touching each other, and for a moment it seemed like they would stop there, but then the girl hummed in her sleep, almost as if she was asking a question. The boy answered with a soft sigh and this time they moved in unison; they both rolled towards each other, ending up on their sides, facing each other, and most of their bodies were joined now, with only their upper bodies and faces being mere inches apart.

They seemed to stop again, now looking much more content than before, but if you looked close enough you could see the girl moving inside her sleeping bag, and the sleepy contentment on her face soon turned to an odd mixture of frustration and sleep. She didn't stop her twisting and moving until she had managed to free her arms from inside the sleeping bag, and once she had achieved that, she immediately brought her arms around the sleeping figure of the boy. And now they both finally slept peacefully with happy expressions lighting their faces.

The centuries old room they were sleeping in had witnessed many a peculiar sights before, having been brought to a semi-conscious existence by all the magic that had seeped into it during the countless years it had stood there, but never before had it seen anything that compared to this. But, unfortunately for the sleeping pair of teenagers, the room had no way of giving away the secrets its withheld, and they would never know how they had managed to worm their way together that night.
