Chapter 1: Don't Leave Me

"Nakatsu have you seen him?" Mizuki had a crazed look in her eyes upon the disappearance of her roommate. She was frantically looking everywhere for him, but came up emptyhanded each time. Her last resort was begging their friends for information.

"Seen who?" Nakatsu had this sheepish look as if he were hiding something from his crush, but he didn't know if he could handle the heartbreak that was about the come. He knew Mizuki was in love with his roommate, but he couldn't stop loving him regardless. Now it was his job as his friend to console him if needed.

"Sano, Izumi Sano!" Mizuki was getting impatient. She wanted answers and Nakatsu was the one standing in front of those answers. She didn't want to yell and cause a scene, but she wasn't above doing that to find the one she loved.

"Oh well you see Ashiya…"

"Nakatsu, TELL ME WHERE HE IS RIGHT NOW!" Mizuki couldn't help but explode and take her anger on her friend, but she did warn him. And now here she was, looking like the asshole yelling in the dorm.

"I'm so sorry Mizuki…" Nakatsu watched his beautiful crush's face drop from questioning to crestfallen in a matter of seconds and knew that he could possibly be hated just for being the messenger.

"What? Sorry about what?" Hands and voice shaking, Mizuki was hoping that her greatest fears weren't about to come true. She needed to know, but deep down she was terrified to find out the truth. She didn't know what she would do if he was gone. Her whole reason for being there was for him. All of the lying and deception was to be close to him. She left her family…for HIM.

"Sano's gone." There it was. The floodgates opened as Mizuki was trying to absorb what Nakatsu had just revealed to her. "Guys don't cry." She thought trying to reign in her emotions. She could cry once she was by herself in the safety of their her dorm. Before she could unleash the tears, she needed to find out everything Nakatsu knew about their friend.

"No, he can't be gone! Where did he go!?"

"I'm not quite sure, but he told me to give this to you." Nakatsu revealed an envelope addressed to her and quickly handed it over.

All Mizuki could do was stare at the thick white paper with her name scribbled across it in Sano's handwriting. "W-what does it say?"

"I don't know, open it and read it yourself. Izumi would kill me if he found out I read it." Nakatsu walked back to his room to give his ailing friend some privacy. And if he needed a shoulder to cry on later, well then he would gladly be that shoulder.

Mizuki's eyes got as wide as dinner plates as she carefully opened the envelope and retrieved the letter from inside. Not wanting to disturb anyone else and give herself some privacy, Mizuki slipped into her room and locked the door. Sitting on her bed, she scanned over the letter, tears already forming in the corners of her eyes.

My Dearest Mizuki,

I'm sorry I left so suddenly, but I can't stand it anymore. My love for you has grown to more than just a friend, but you've been so oblivious that you can't see it. So instead of trying to contain my feelings any longer, I've decided to leave. If you feel the same way then come and find me, but if not then all I have to say is goodbye.

Love,

Izumi

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep

Mizuki sat up in a flash which resulted in her hitting her head and wincing back in pain. Sano saw this just as he was getting out of the shower and he ran over to see to see if she was ok.

"Are you alright?" Sano asked; worry setting over his face as he checked the spot where his roommate hit her head.

"Yea I'm good" Mizuki said while giving him a thumb's- up trying to convince Sano that she was alright and hoping that he would step back before he noticed that his roommate was actually a girl.

"If you're ok then why are you crying?" Sano smirked and walked to his dresser to grab a shirt, knowing that it makes her uncomfortable and blush every time.

"I am NOT crying. I just have something in my eye from when I hit my head."

This statement made Sano's grin turn into laughter.

"And what exactly are YOU laughing at?" Mizuki asked stubbornly.

After she said that he sat up and stopped laughing. He just stared into her eyes which made Mizuki turn red. Just as Sano was about to say something, Mizuki got up and ran to the bathroom saying, "I'm taking a shower now, so you don't have to wait for me if you don't want to."

20 Minutes later

"Crap, I forgot my clothes! I really hope Sano isn't here."

She opened the door slightly and looked out. Luckily no one was there, so she walked out only wearing a towel. She grabbed her clothes and rushed back to the bathroom, but failed to notice her bag on the floor which resulted in her falling forward and dropping her towel in the process.

"At least no one's here. If Sano, or anybody for that matter, saw me like this, they definitely would've found out and then I'd be kicked out for sure!"

Tears of pain started to flow down her cheeks when all of a sudden the door opened.

A/N – Hello my fellow readers. This was my very first multi-chapter fanfiction, and now that 10+ years have passed, I've decided to tidy this story up a bit and hopefully complete it. Thank you to everyone who has read the original and thank you to those that are going to read the rewrite. I look forward to hearing comments and critiques along the way.
