She was going to love it. Shunsui knew his Nanao loved good writing, and whose writing was better than his? Heart was the most important element of any good poetry after all, and he was nothing but when it came to his kawaii, kawaii Nanao-chan.

He put the final flourish on the line of calligraphy making up his epic declaration of love to his fukutaicho. "There. Finished." He tipped a cupful of sake back and sat back from the masterpiece as he looked up at his best friend who just happened to be hovering over his shoulder. "What do you think, Jyuushiro?"

Amused chocolate eyes drifted over the curving lines of unintentionally sloppy katakana characters. He could decipher perhaps half of the poem. The rest was rather creatively crafted nonsense. "Ah, it's very…artistic, Shunsui."

The inebriated captain beamed. "I should present it to her now, then. We both know my beloved Nanao-chan appreciates pun…punctu…p…" Shunsui blinked fuzzily at the parchment in front of him. "…being on time."

Ukitake chuckled softly and ducked down to pull a limp arm over his shoulders and haul Kyoraku to his feet. Bracing himself against the sway of the taller man, he slipped his arm around the other man's midsection and shook his head. "I don't think she'll mind missing a visit tonight. Come on, some fresh air would do you some good."

They made it as far as the couch. The alcohol caught up with the captain of the eighth before he could get a breath of fresh air.

With a soft sigh, Jyuushiro lay the softly snoring shinigami down, tipped the sakkat over his face the way he knew his long-time friend preferred, then stood and picked up the 'artwork'. The captain of the thirteenth honestly debated with himself whether to get rid of the potentially embarrassing evidence, or to keep it for later use.

"Hm." He shook his head and set the paper down to dry. Picking up his tea, he sat by the window and watched the night. It wasn't as if he couldn't decide later, after all.

A little short based off of a list of prompts I put together for myself. The word was "Artistically", and I've been wanting to work on my longer Bleach fanfics. Figure this is a good way to get in a Bleachy sorta mood. I love these two.
