Part 1

Leon stepped out onto the grassy field; he turned to see a man standing next to a helicopter. The man was medium height and was wearing an olive drab green vest and tan pants; his hair was dark and not very long. Leon walked up to the man and put his hand out.

"Chris Redfield, S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team." Chris said while shaking Leon's hand.

"Names Leon Kennedy, your one of the few S.T.A.R.S. members to survive the mansion incident four years ago." Leon said.

"That's right, and you must be the rookie cop who helped my sister escape." Chris replied. Leon let his hand fall to his side after the firm handshake. Chris opened the helicopter door. Leon climbed in seeing another S.T.A.R.S. member, a woman. Leon sat down next to the woman.

"I'm Jill Valentine, nice meeting you." Jill said. Leon could tell that she had experience; her voice was strong and had no sense of fear.

The helicopter started up, it began to rise off the ground as they took off.

"Fill me in on the details." Leon said.

"Well we received info that there is a underground Umbrella facility in Europe, the mission objective is strictly to take out any B.O.W.'s and close off the entrance." Chris said.

"How do we get in?" Leon asked.

"There is an entrance hidden deep into the forest." Jill answered. Chris pulled a 9mm Beretta from a small chest and held it out for Leon. Leon pulled a large Desert eagle 50AE from under his dark brown leather jacket. Chris lowered his arm still holding the weapon.

"Also we are to rescue any living humans and bring them in for interrogation." Chris added. Jill slid a clip into a black Beretta and pushed the lever releasing the slide forward. Leon could tell that she knew what she was doing and that she was no rookie.

The helicopter began to descend into the dark forest; the sun was almost all the way down.

"We are landing about half a mile from the entrance; we will have to continue on foot from here to the opening." Chris informed. Chris opened the helicopter door and stepped out first, next was Leon and then Jill, the helicopter rose back up into the air.

"Alright the opening should be half a mile west." Chris said. Leon pulled the slide of the large caliber weapon back loading a round into the chamber. The trio began to slowly walk through the trees cautiously.

Chris held his Beretta tightly. Jill followed Chris cautiously, Leon was close behind.

"There it is." Jill said as she pointed to a wooden hatch in the ground. Chris looked at Jill and signaled her to open it carefully. Leon stood behind Jill with his Desert eagle pointed at the hatch. Jill opened it slowly revealing a staircase that disappeared into darkness.

"Alright, everyone keep on your guard we can't have any mistakes. God knows what is down there," Chris said. Leon nodded in agreement. Leon went first down the opening; he held a flashlight to the side of his gun. Jill followed behind Leon as they moved deeper into the darkness. So far there was no sign of any harm…. Until suddenly they heard a shuffling sound, they all hesitated and raised their weapons.

"The creatures have already made it this far, almost to the surface." Leon said quietly. They reached the bottom of the stairs; there was two ways to go.

"Leon will you be okay on your own, Jill and I can investigate one way." Chris asked. Chris held a headset out for Leon; he grabbed it and put it on.

"Yeah, if I find anything I will contact you." Leon answered. They split up going in opposite directions, Leon closed the door behind him…he was alone, all alone.
