- Are you sure you're not hurt ?

Whispered Isaac to the little boy next to him. He was worried, of course, his pure heart full of concern for what happened to be a little atrocity. The little kid had a face deformed, puffy and gross. His crying echoed in the vast, empty room.

Twisting his fingers in stress, Isaac gave himself a little time to think. Who would have knewn the trap under his carpet hide a gigantic cave ? Not him, for sure. He was kind of afraid at the idea his mother could've found the cave and followed him, but he awaited a little moment anyway.

He looked back at the little kid following him. Instead of the object he usually found in the room – only the room with the golden door- he just saw this little guy, waiting all alone. And automatically, the little abomination followed him, silently crying as he followed his path.

Isaac quickly understood what the little guy's purpose was : All monsters shot him on sight, forgetting Isaac at the same time. By this way, Isaac could destroy them with that strange power of his, without getting hurt.

7But still, he was worried for the little guy.

- Are you sure you're not hurt ?

He whispers again. But there is no voice to answer his, and the monster remains silent. Biting his lip, Isaac can't stop thinking.

Is he feeling the pain ? He asks to himself.

Is he sad ? He wonders.

Why is he crying, and why doesn't he answer to me ?

Isaac starts to bite his nails, eyes wet from his tears. Isaac is afraid, of course. Almost killed by his own mother, and left all alone with a monster in a sort of big cave. It is, he thinks, a good reason to cry.

He looks again at the little boy next to him. The tiny monster is crying silently, as always, and he fiddles his fingers, just like Isaac did a mintute ago. Then, he looks at the human boy – Not able to hold his glare for more than a few seconds- and, full of curiosity, bite his nail also.

Isaac lets a smile appear on his face as he understand that the deformed boy is trying to mimick him. He decides that his break will last a little longer than expected and, quickly, tries to teach his new companion a few gestures.

And that is how, sometimes, while sneaking in a room full of monsters, Isaac would catch the little dude waving to him. And, when given the opportunity, he would wave back.

He would probably never have any answer to his questions, as the tiny atrocity would not learn how to talk. Probably was he mute, after all.

But still, Isaac was worried, and sometimes, he would whisper, without any hope of getting an answer, more to himself than to the monster :

- Are you sure you're not hurt ?

So! This is my first entirely english fiction (the previous one being only a translation) and, why not, I decided to write it on Isaac. This was randomly inspired by one of my favorite youtuber's run, when he came accross this "Punching Ball" object -wich is in fact, a companion.

I automatically thought about the fact that Isaac would be very worried for his little friend to take damage for him, and... Well, this thing was born.

Please, as I am not a native english (my first language is french), if you see any mistake, could it be grammatical or orthographic, tell me so I can get better!
