James and Lily saw everything once they died. They watched their little baby turn into an amazing boy who turned into an amazing man. Some days were full of tears, others were full of anger, and some days were full of pride. They smiled when Harry was sorted into Griffindor. They were furious every moment Snape awful to Harry. When Harry first faced Voldemort, they were terrified. Just like every time he faced Voldemort. The first time Harry played quiditch, James cheered while Lily rolled her eyes at his excitement ("Lily! That's my baby boy! look at him!"). When Remus transformed in front of Harry, they were at a loss of words; then Snape stepped in and saved their son, they finaly let out that breath they were holding ("Lils he's still a slimy git"). The Quiditch World Cup had them on the edge of their seats. James watched eagerly the match while Lily smiled at his expressions. Harry was so much like James in his love of the game. When the Death Eaters attacked, they only wanted to hold their son close and protect him again. Lily sobbed as her little boy was facing Voldemort in the grave yard, but at least they were able to do some good when the wands faced one another. In Harry's fifth year is when they were worried about his mental state. Lily wanted him to talk to someone. James agreed with whatever Lily said.
Then...Harry entered the Ministry. Harry had that premonition that Sirius was in trouble, and being his father's son, he ran into the danger head first. Every moment of the duels that followed, James and Lily prayed to God that their son wouldn't join them just yet. He was only 15! Harry had so much life left ahead of him. When Sirius showed up, the loving parents knew Sirius would protect Harry with his life: they just wished Sirius didn't have to give up his life. Sirius had a smile on his face when he passed through the veil.
Sirius was happy it was him and not Harry: he'd rather it be him than Harry, his last link to James and Lily. His last link to anyone he truly loved. Sirius's next breath was a gasp of warm air. At first, Sirius was disoriented: the last breath he took was cold, wet air. When Sirius felt something. No someone run into him, Sirius moved to raise his wand, still believing he was in the throes of battle. When Sirius could not find his wand, he looked up into the face of his best friend.
"James...You're here!" Sirius rushed the man who had become his brother. Automatically Sirius's eyes looked for Lily, for the two were never far apart when they were alive. Once his eyes found Lily, who was rushing towards them, Sirius ran to her; giving Lily a hug she had missed for fourteen years. The three cried together and they laughed together. Sirius told Lily and James everything they had missed following their fourteen years being dead. Once the catching up had come to a close, Lily left the men to finally be together as brothers again.
"Sirius, it's a shame you got so old. Imagine the trouble we could get up to here."
"Prongs, it's truly a shame you couldn't grow old. Imagine the trouble we could have gotten into down there."
