Who Is This?

His middle name's "Respectable",

His swaying is uncanny,

He's often unavailable

For duties he has many.

His favourite thing to talk about

Is one good ship, the Pearl.

If he can't board this vessel stout

It makes him want to hurl.

And even more than pretty women

- the captain starts to hum -

He likes a slice of fresh-cut lemon

In a nice big glass of rum.

When all the rum on board's depleted

And heads get rather heavy,

The crew at once he calls to beat it,

Aloft his voice sounds: "Savvy?"

Another famous line he coined,

His own beyond the grave,

Say those who have been at gun-point:

"Yo-ho, my friends, close-shave!"

Among all treasures of the earth,

For him the biggest fret,

Supposedly his greatest worth,

Is his old scruffy hat.

Ay, say the sailors far and nigh,

From Fiji to Bahamas,

His name makes all the ladies sigh:

Jack, you're the cat's pajamas!
