Inu Yasha No Yume

Hullo! Tis me again! Man I haven't written in forever! Gomenasai! This is based on a little dream I had on 1/12/03 and it seriously creeped me out with all these great and horrible ideas. Hopefully I will be more successful in putting it on paper than I was with the Dreamy Dream! I've added a lot to it so it'll make more sense and so I can go farther with it. I know it says romance, but it's not between Inu Yasha and Yume!!! Mwah ah ah ah! Recently I found out that some of the ideas I had for this fic were on the same wavelength as Rumiko Takahashi and the actual Manga of Inu Yasha. Some of these things have not yet been released to DVD in Japan until very recently and I only found out about them on 1/19/03. That makes it nice so I can tie it into the actual story line of Inu Yasha (which I like to do). These things include Rin being kidnapped and Naraku going after Sesshoumaru's body...teehee much fun. Enjoy.

Chapter 1 - Seer

Looking up, she saw past the roots of the giant tree. Cautiously, she walked forward and touched the bare spot. She waited. "Nothing..." She muttered, discouraged. She sighed and jumped gracefully down. Her green, tea dress flared; the slits up the sides making this possible. The dress was short-sleeved with gray showing from underneath her sleeves; her obi, her arm warmers, and her leggings were grey, as well. Her short hair was an uncommonly lighter brown and her equally strange eyes were of an emerald green. She landed and crouched. She looked up only to come face to face with a hunched over older woman in a miko's clothes. The Seer smiled. "Why are you in Inu Yasha's forest?" The squat miko asked firmly. The Seer stood and looked at the tree. "Inu Yasha," She jumped up to the spot where she had stood a moment before and touched the bare spot again. "the Hanyou that was pinned here for 50 years?"
"Yes...how do you know that?"
She jumped back down. "I have seen Inu Yasha through a vision. My name is Yume and I'm a Seer." She pointed to her forehead, indicating her second sight or third eye. "Who might you be, Miko-sama?"
"I am Kaede. How did you receive this vision, Seer?"

"Through this," From her shirt she pulled a leather thong that had a shard of the Shikon no Tama on it. "I touch things and occasionally get visions about someone who has also touched it, or by touching the person directly; visions from their pasts, present, or futures. When I picked it up I saw through the eyes of a girl in green. She called out Inu Yasha's name as he was struck by lightening," She stuffed the shard back under the collar of her tea dress.
"That makes sense. Kagome once carried the Shikon no Tama when it was whole, as its protector, just before it shattered," Kaede sat on one of the big roots of the Go-Shinboku God Tree. "Where are you from, Seer?"
"Call me Yume, please, Seer sounds so...oh...never mind. I'm from the north. Very north."
"That's a long way away, since we are south. How long have you been traveling?"
"Only a week. I have a horse. She's tied by that old well."
"Than let us go get her. Inu Yasha and Kagome will be returning soon." Kaede stood and began walking.
"Good. I should like to meet them," Yume smiled and followed.
The miko stopped. "If you prove to be untrustworthy you will greatly regret it, Seer."
Yume bowed deeply. "I won't. Promise. I just want to keep that vision from coming true."
"Yes..." She began walking again.
"There were four others in my vision: a girl with a giant boomerang, a monk, a boy with red hair and a tail, and a giant cat that had two tails and big fangs. Are they friends, too?"
"Sango the Youkai exterminator, Miroku the ah...monk, Shippou the fox- demon, and Kirara, Sango's companion. People who have joined in Inu Yasha and Kagome's cause."
"Their cause?"
"Collect the Shikon shards and kill Naraku." She said bluntly.
"Who's Naraku?"
"An evil Youkai who has at some point or another ruined each of their lives."
"I see..." Yume nodded to the miko. The miko stopped. Before them was the old well and her horse, Hana. The well looked older than the miko, which hardly seemed possible to Yume.
A sudden noise surprised her and she drew the sword from Hana's saddle and jumped in front of the miko. She gritted her teeth; something was inside the well.
"This wouldn't have happened if you'd just let me climb up on my own!" A girl screeched.
"Shut up!" You're too slow anyway!" Another voice growled.
"Sit!" Another thump sounded and Yume starred, confused as a hand grabbed the side of the well.
"Why you...!" A red-cloaked figure jumped out, white hair flowing willy- nilly.
"Inu Yasha!" The girl in green was the owner of the hand; she screamed at the red figure as she poked her head out. "Don't you dare!"
Defiantly, he grabbed her hand and yanked her out. "Hah!" He stood up proud, sneering down at the girl and her insanely large backpack.
"Augh!!! You're impossible!" She shouted in his face as he picked up her backpack with her still attached. "PUT ME DOWN!!!"
He held her at arm's length while she struggled to get down. "Moron!"
"INU YASHA!!! SIT!!!"
Immediately, the boy in red face-planted into the dirt. By now Yume had let her sword hand fall to her side. Who were these people?
"You are SO cruel! I should...!" He growled, nose in the ground.
A sound of metal clinking against metal stopped them as Yume sheathed her sword and stood back.
"Hello, Inu Yasha. Welcome back, Kagome," Kaede smiled slyly and waved.
"Hey ya old fart! Why didn't ya say something?!" He demanded.
"You were stupid enough not to notice!" Kagome stuck out her tongue and walked over to Kaede.
"You didn't notice either!"
"How are you Kaede?"
"I am well," She nodded.
"Good!" She smiled cheerfully. "Who's this?" She pointed to Yume.
Yume bowed. The power coming from this girl was amazing, was she a miko...?
"I'm Yume, a Seer. I'm pleased to meet you Miko-sama."
"I'm not a miko..."
"Of course you are. How else can you control his body?"
Just then, Inu Yasha walked up and Kagome grabbed the prayer beads. "This. Kaede-sama put it on him."
"I did," Kaede nodded. "But if you weren't my sister's..."
"Keh!" Inu Yasha interrupted. "Whadda ya want, runt?" He poked Yume's chest and she felt disappointed that nothing happened.
She grabbed his finger and smiled. "I'm glad to meet you too, Inu Yasha."
Kagome bopped him on the head. "Be nice, Inu Yasha!" She shook Yume's hand kindly.

A centipede grabbed her from the old well. Surprised, she felt herself falling farther than the space the well had to offer.
"The Shikon no Tama! You have it! Give it to me!"

A crow demon flew above, something glinting in its body. She let her arrow fly with the crow's foot attached. It hit and exploded, sending bright pieces of light in all directions.

The miko looked suspiciously familiar as she kissed the young Hanyou. The ground beneath them was falling apart and her heart was screaming for the miko to stop.

She hid behind a tree. There was something going on next to the God tree. Kikyo was there and Inu Yasha was holding her. Her heart hurt; more than anything she wanted to be anywhere but here.

They stood in the courtyard of a great castle. A man with long black hair and a baboon cape was facing off with Inu Yasha, who had a large sword drawn in his defense. Naraku raised his hand and brought it down in Inu Yasha's direction. A bolt of blue lightening struck him with a terrible crack.
"Inu Yasha!" She heard herself scream.
When the dust cleared, only a stricken Inu Yasha remained. Sango and Miroku looked worn, and she was out of arrows.

Yume smiled as Kaede spoke. "Yume is a Seer. She has come to speak to Inu Yasha about a vision she had."
"Keh! What about?" He grumbled.
Casually, Yume walked over to the Hanyou. Their eyes met and Yume felt pain that could not be seen. Setting that aside and continuing the awkward silence she reached forward and grabbed his ears.
His expression grew darker as she tweaked his white dog-ears, but she only smiled. She realized she wasn't going to get anything from him in the way of visions, although she couldn't figure out why. She sighed and let go.
Inu Yasha kept eye contact a second longer than Yume had expected, than turned. "Kagome!" He yelled at the girl as she pat Hana's nose, "I'm hungry! Do you have any of that noodle stuff?!"
"Really, Inu Yasha! You are hopeless!" She mumbled as she began to walk towards the village. Remembering Yume she swirled back around, "You're welcome to join us! I'm sure I have something good that you've never had before!"
"I'd be honored, Miko-sama," Yume bowed. As she came back up, she noticed Kagome role her eyes.
"Do you?!" Inu Yasha growled.
"YES! I DO already!!!"
Yume stood, silent. Kaede tapped her on the shoulder, brushing her exposed flesh.

Her sister was badly wounded. Blood poured from a huge open wound on her side. She handed her the Shikon no Tama.
"Kaede," She gasped, "burn this with my remains." Suddenly, the life was gone from her grey eyes and she fell forward.
"Sister! Kikyo!"

A girl in green sat before her, her hands bound. She looked furious and familiar.
"It's uncanny...the resemblance..."

Her sister sat before her, looking pale and sad. They starred at each other.
"I have just come from an encounter with Inu Yasha..." Her older sister was saying.

"Where is Kagome-sama from, Kaede-sama?"
"Her world is through the Bone-Eater's Well. Only she and Inu Yasha can use it, though."
"Wow. Who is the miko that bears a remarkable resemblance to her? I saw her in visions when you and Kagome-sama touched me."

"My older sister, Kikyo. She was the miko that once protected Shikon no Tama, 50 years ago."
"Is Kagome-sama her reincarnation?"
"Yes..."
Yume nodded and touched her shirt where the Shikon shard lay. Gathering Hana's reins she followed Kaede, who had already started walking.
