Alice's POV

October 15 1861

The vampire world was never an easy one for me to endure. Not knowing what you've become, and not knowing what to do when you crave blood, and escape your attacker can mess a girl up. Come to think about it, my human life wasn't the best either. I spent most of my life in an asylum, because of my ability to know what will happen in the next day, week, or month. My name was Mary Alice Brandon. Now, I go by Alice.

I'm on a mission. To find someone, someone I've never even met. Except for in my head. I have been all over the country in search for him. Jasper Whitlock -the man of my dreams. The man I have been seeing almost every day in my visions. I see him on horses, with newborns, and even with another beautiful woman. I'm certain my visions won't steer me wrong, so I won't give up.

I've been a vampire for years now, traveling around by myself, learning about all new kinds of things, having to do with this life. I'm very glad my visions came along with me. I feel secure knowing I will have someone to love and a family someday. That's another thing. I see Jasper and I joining a coven in the future, that is when I find him. Carlisle and Esme, Emmett and Rosalie, and Edward Cullen - our future family.

I closed my journal, and put it down on the counter next to me. I decided to start writing down my thoughts after I saw him. Everything is just so scrambled in my brain now. I need to find him.

"What can I get you, dear?" I heard a high, tired voice ask me. I looked at the little old lady standing on the opposite side of the counter from me. She was shorter than I, which was hard to believe, with shiny silver hair, and laugh lines. The kind of lady I could never be.

"No, thank you." I replied, and turned to stare out into the rainy streets of Philadelphia. The old woman turned and walked back into the kitchen. I had a feeling that he would come to me any day now…he had to.

Since I had nothing to do but wait, I decided to pick up a newspaper and read. I could wait as long as I had to. Nothing I read was that interesting, news of the war mostly.

As I finished reading, I decided tonight wasn't going to be the night. I had been here since 7 o'clock, and it was now closing in on midnight. I stood up, and waved to the friendly old waitress who was watching me. I grabbed my over coat, and turned back to face the darkness of the night. Reaching down to pick up my umbrella, I heard the door open. *ding* The bell on the door chimed, and a man walking through the shadows. I knew by the scent, that he was a vampire. I knew by my visions, it was him.
