Author's note: This fan-fiction is based off an old flight simulator game known as Acecombat 04 Shattered Skies; this will take place about 20 years after the second Erusean continental war when the storyteller boy writes to the ace fighter of the ISAF forces, Mobius 1. This chapter is also an introduction so please wait for the second chapter to critique or comment about it.

Chapter 1 Hello

August 4th, 2024

The once familiar scent of burning jet fuel has long since faded away. What was once Yellow Squadron's runway is now just a local highway again. I write this letter to you now; I know it must have brought him unexpected joy to have an opponent like you, at the end of that meaningless war. At least that's what I want to believe. Only you… the pilot, who shot him down, can confirm this. And so, I write to you.

Well, hello. I guess I can help someone like you get some closure about their friend/father figure. First off, because I suspect that this will not be the only letter I write to you, I would like for you to refer to me as my call sign I used long ago, Mobius 1. The first thing I want you to know is that Yellow 4 and 13 were honorable opponents in the air, and as I'm sure you already know they were an ace squadron. Nonetheless, aces or not, all squadrons have their weaknesses. That's where I came in, with years of flight experience I knew the perfect ways to take out squadrons. The key is to take out their leader, and then the squadron falls apart. Unfortunately that's air force 101 and everyone knows that the leader of the squadron needs to be protected at all times. Of course I couldn't do that to the Yellows, they were just too experienced. However that wasn't the main issue though, what the real problem was the fact that they wouldn't let a single scratch get on Yellow 13's aircraft. Even when I got into the middle of their formation, or when I circled around them, they were somehow behind me with a lock on me before I could even get within a good range of any of them. Anyway the first time we encountered the Yellow squadron, was during the defense of the Comona Island rocket base. The Eruseans sent in a large number of enemy air craft, including 5 B-2As, in hopes of preventing us from launching a recon satellite. Our mission was to defend Comona Island for about 15 minutes, and make sure the satellite took off safely.
