Title: Reasons Behind Love
Summary: Blue Sargent has four very logical, unarguable, and solid reasons on why Richard Gansey III is not going to die because of her. Except for when she doesn't.
…
Blue Sargent did not believe in love, so there was no way it could affect her.

"How many bowls of gelato did you guys buy?" Adam was the second to last one to show up.
"I think it was thirty seven." Blue smiled at him. "They couldn't decide."
"But we didn't get the extra chocolate super swirl." Noah pouted.
"Oh, get over it, Noah." Ronan snapped. "Does anybody know where Gansey is?"
Everyone frowned.
"I assumed he was already here." Adam finally said.
Suddenly, Gansey plopped down in the last chair. "Sorry I'm late. I got another bowl."
"Extra chocolate super swirl?" Noah perked up.
"Noah!" Ronan scowled.
Gansey shrugged. "What else?"
"Thirty eight." Blue said.
Adam sighed. "I'll trust your counting abilities."
/
These idiots loved each other too much.
…
Blue wouldn't fall in love, so it couldn't hurt her.

Gansey picked up the phone on the first ring. "Hello?" He said.
"Hey." She said. "I can't help with the search tomorrow. I've used all my sick days, I have to go to work."
"Oh, that's alright, Jane." Gansey said. "We were just going to poke around Cabeswater."
"See you, then." She said.
The next day, all four Raven Boys were sitting in a booth at Nino's when she started her shift.
"What are you guys doing here? I thought you'd be in Cabeswater." She said.
Gansey smiled. "Felt like pizza instead."
/
She loved them all far too much.
…
Blue was not in love with Gansey, so he wouldn't die.

"Jane!" Gansey called. "Come look at this cave, it might be the one."
"Looks too small." She said, but she walked over nonetheless.
"Midget's right, Gansey." Ronan said. "Too tiny."
"Be nice to Jane, Lynch." Gansey said. "Or she might stab you with that pink knife of hers."
"Shut up, Gansey."
"Come along, Jane. Into the cave."
Groaning, she followed him inside the cave.
"You're right, too small." Gansey said. "Don't think it leads anywhere."
"We'll find it." She promised.
"Will we?" He asked.
"We will."
Gansey looked so insecure in that moment. "I hope you're right, Jane."
"I'm always right."
He smiled.
/
She was so in love with him.
…
Blue would not kiss Gansey, so he would survive.
/
"I won't do it."
"Blue, it isn't your fault."
"Yes! Yes it is!"
"No, Blue." He shook his head.
"But-"
"Kiss me, Blue. I'm ready."
/
She kissed him.
