"And he loved my mother so much that he sacrificed everything for her," Harry concluded.
During his explanation, his wife had remained completely silent. Now Ginny crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a hard glare.
"Absolutely not," she stated. "We are not naming our son after such a horrible man."
Harry blinked. "But…"
"Yes, he became a force for good, and for that I might call him a hero," Ginny allowed. "But as a woman, I cannot respect a single thing he did in your mother's name. He was so obsessed with her that he was willing to let her husband and child die so that he could have her. Infatuation is not love-"
"I'd say it was more like unrequited love," Harry began.
"It was obsession," she said bluntly. "Love is wanting to see the person happy. Do you really think she would have been happy with a man who aided in the murder of her family?"
When he went to protest again, Ginny took his hands into her own.
"Remember when you were depressed? No, listen to me, Harry – I know you don't like to talk about it, but it's necessary right now. You experienced all of the same things he did. You were bullied. You were abused. But not once have you ever forced your love onto a person who didn't want to return it. And if you were even capable of torturing a child, I would have left you long ago."
He lowered his gaze, and she squeezed his hands.
"You can forgive him, Harry, but don't make excuses for him."
Harry sighed. "Fine. Albus Arnold it is, then."
Ginny grumbled against the first name as well, and Harry massaged the area between his eyebrows as he looked down at the list he had compiled.
It had been a long time since Harry last held a baby, but looking down at the newest member to his family, he felt a surge of love that came naturally as it did every time before.
"His name is Henri," Teddy told him. "After the man who helped raise me."
Harry looked up from the baby. "But Remus…Maybe he wasn't the best person, but your father was a good man," Harry said. "You should honor him, not me."
"I am," Teddy said with a small smile. "Henri Remus Lupin is his full name. But I think that even my dad would agree that Remus is a horrible name."
Harry laughed, and cradling the baby in his arms, recalled that there was far more meaning in a name than he had ever thought possible. Ginny was right that Severus would have horrible connotations in it of a man obsessed with a woman; Remus, however, held the love of a father for his son.
AN: If you don't think Harry experienced PTSD, then you're wrong.
