The Day I Fell In Love

''Mother, please I don't want to go!'' Kayla said out loud as her mother curled her hair.

Her mother didn't listen. When she finished curling Kayla's black hair, she rubbed a small brush across her eyelids. Kayla sighed, she held in little tears. Her mother spun Kayla around, and hugged her tight.

''I don't want to do this. But, I'm not going to let you die like Harlow. Maybe at this party you'll meet some friends.'' Kayla's mom said with tears running down her face.

''For you, only for you.'' Kayla said putting on a brave face. ''Now let's go''

The air was cold outside; the wind was only a tiny breeze. Kayla looked at the most brightest star. She admired how shiny it stayed even when it felt dim. Kayla could relate with the star, Kayla knew Harlow would die but she still stayed happy. Kayla took a look in the mirror; she didn't mean to get too attached but she did. Her black curls were shiny and smooth like ice. Her snow white skin had a rosy glow. She wore a black dress that went to her knees. Kayla felt pretty, and she truly was.

''Here we are, have fun! But not too much fun, your still only twelve.'' Kayla's mother said

Kayla stepped out of the car. The sounds of music filled the cold air. Kayla sauntered to the back gate. She opened up to gate just a tiny bit. She peeked in the hole, she saw laughing kids. She opened the gate all the way this time. She slowly walked to a chair, and sat down. This was going to be a long two hours for Kayla.

An hour passed by, the time seemed to be slowly passing by. Right as her eyes began to shut; she felt a tap on her shoulder. She peeked behind her. A boy her age with honey blonde hair and ocean blue eyes sat beside her.

''Hey you seem bored.'' The boy said.

''No it's just I know no one here.'' Kayla replied.

''I'm Dylan, and your Kayla. I've seen you in my classes.'' Dylan said.

Kayla smiled, but she wasn't faking it. Deep inside her gut she felt happy. Dylan and Kayla talked for the rest of the party. Kayla was just about to leave, until Dylan called out her name.

''So do I get the number?'' Dylan asked.

Kayla smiled and wrote down her number on a piece of paper from her purse. She handed it to Dylan and left. Butterflies filled her stomach, for the first time she was super happy.
