Matt walks up to Prentiss and the team.
"Hey Emily can we talk" Matt asked Prentiss
"Uh ya sure, one sec you guys" She said pulling him by the hand " what are you doing here" she asked
"Can I not come and see you"? He asked
"no no whats up"? Prentiss said
"you know I had a dream about you last night" Matt said looking at her.
"I hope it wasn't a nightmare" Prentiss said with a slight chuckle
" No of course not but I dreamt that we were ten, by the candy machine and I...got you a plastic ring" Matt said
"what was the occasion"? Prentiss asked
" it was an engagment ring" Matt said
" what happened next" Prentiss asked
" I uh...don't know I woke up" Matt said
" Hey look I'm..." Prentiss began
"Don't worry about it easy come easy go" Matt said
" I'm really sorry" Prentiss said "it's just..." She continued looking back at the six people eavesdropping on their conversation.
"you didn't wan't them to know" Matt said "was it something I did that emabarrased you, am I not good enough to meet your friends" He asked
"that's not it, it's just they see things differently and I don't know how they would see this" Prentiss said
"You could have told me, I could have changed your mind" Matt said "don't you think you could have given me that"? He questioned
"I knew the minute I told you I would be falling way too fast for you, I just couldn't let someone else suffer because of me" Prentiss said
"a little too late for that isn't it"? He said back
"can we talk about this later" Prentiss said
"you know I don't have a problem with this, do you?" He said " hey I'm crazy about her" He said over to one guy walking by.
"Stop it please... Look when I look at myself I always double guess myself, and the minute I did I asked myself one question" Prentiss said looking up at him with tearful eyes.
"and what was that" Matt asked
Prentiss shook her head.
"I know my future Matt I really do, I just don't know if it will be with you" Prentiss said allowing some of those tears fall slowly down.
"a relationship is only real when you are able to accept the faults and rights of the person you truly love, and I thought that was you, apparently I was wrong" Matt said
Prentiss didn't allow herself to look up she bowed her head in silence as the tears fell from her solemn eyes. He slowly slid a ring into her hand and said...
"Happy Valentines Day Emily" Then he walked away.
She took a close look at the ring it had a message on it, it said:

"yeah I think you guys would make a cute couple" Garcia said

"hey Matt wait...listen It's not about the future or about them not finding out or anything like that it's just...I have always been hurt and I always ran from being hurt and I thought things were moving too fast so I did the only thing I thought of which was running but I don't wan't to run anymore...atleast not from you and I just wish I realized that sooner but i know now and..." Prentiss said rambling on.
" You talk to much" Matt said pulling her into a kiss.
"what the...when was she ever seeing that guy"? Reid asked
"well finally, it's been forever" Rossi said
"yeah I know, she held out longer than JJ" Morgan said
