The End of Series 9 has come. I would like to thank those who have made it so special to me and I have to say, I've had the most fun writing it! :)

Lieutenant Adventures Series 9 Finalé Episode 46 31 December 2014. The Lieutenant Dies.

The Lieutenant stood, arms out. He was ready. He shut his eyes and listened. The wind was light.

The Zombies were groaning.

The Lieutenant focused on what he was feeling. Comfortable. Comfort in his toes, feet, ankles, legs, belly, arms, an iron sword in his hand, comfort in... Wait. What? An iron sword in his hand? His eyes flew open and he spun round.

Kellie stood there grinning.

"I thought..." said the Lieutenant and hugged Kellie tightly. Finally, he let go.

"You're going to need to be brave," winked Kellie.

The Lieutenant and Kellie fought the mob. It took hours. Finally, they killed the last one.

Kellie let out a long breath.

"What was the body, then?" asked the Lieutenant.

"A trick," giggled Kellie.

The Lieutenant slapped Kellie.

Kellie looked scared for a moment. "I'm sor-"

"No, I am. But try and imagine that. I've known you longer than any other companion! Shall we eat?" The Lieutenant went back to his house.

Kellie followed. She baked a massive cake.

The Lieutenant and Kellie ate together.

"O.K. Back to the SISO," said the Lieutenant.

"Why?" asked Kellie.

"I'm bringing you home so I can prepare for Series 10," said the Lieutenant.

"No," said Kellie.

"O.K. As you wish. I fancy a walk. You?"

The Lieutenant and Kellie walked the countryside for a long time, then returned.

All was good over the next few weeks.

The Lieutenant was happy. He had Kellie back.

Kellie was happy. She had Scraffy.

Scraffy was happy.

Jeck was happy.

The Lieutenant thought of Timothy.

And just so he wasn't left out, Kellie thought of Sandy.

All returned to normal. No more attacks and, of course, lots of work to do.

It was the end of the Lieutenant's 9th successful series. He was happy.

The End

The Lieutenant will return in Death In Paradise.
