We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
Matthew sighed, the stars twinkling above him in the dark expanse of night. The snow was soft, only a slight layer was covering the plush grass, so he was comfortable.
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
He turned his head and looked at the beautiful face of the woman next to him. She was gazing at him, love filling her bright blue eyes. Her smile seemed to brighten the world around them.
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
"I-," Matthew started, his voice almost inaudible. He shook his head and turned away, not knowing if the words could convey his love for her.
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
"I love you too, Matthew Williams," she said, lightly turning his head back towards her. He breathed out happily, taking in her features again. The short blonde hair framed her face perfectly, and every time he blinked, all he saw was her face. Most people only thought her body was beautiful, but Matthew saw into her eyes, past everything.
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
"Katyusha, you're perfect, and I'm not sure how I can say how much I love you in words, it's just too difficult, but I do, so much," he said, his usually shy voice filled with loving passion. Katyusha's eyes lit up even more, and she kissed Matthew softly.
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
Katyusha and Matthew held hands, not caring about the snow that was starting to make their clothes damp. They talked about meaningless things; about the ocean, the sky, animals, everything. Their perfect world, just them, together.
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
Matthew knew he loved her. He couldn't live without her. He squeezed her hand gently. He felt complete with her. And he knew she felt exactly the same.
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into lifeAll that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
Matthew stared into her eyes. He could see past her looks and into her soul. He saw how beautiful she is, inside and out.
"Katy, do you think they'd accept us being together?"
"Who cares? We love each other too much to care, right?"
"Of course."
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
Matthew stood suddenly. Katy propped herself up on her elbows.
He got down on one knee. Katy smiled.
"Katyusha Braginski, will you marry me?"
"Yes, of course."
Matthew embraced her, crying happily. Katyusha wiped away his tears and kissed him.
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
