Never to Part
He missed her more than life,
More than his now shattered heart.
Yet he still held on hard to her promise,
That they never again would part.
She missed him more than her life,
More than her ending and start.
Yet she wouldn't ever break her promise,
They'd never truly completely part.
He watched as their struggle continued,
Watched as they fought for their hearts.
And, one day, as he visited her soul,
He said, "Here's a deal that you'll never be apart.
"I can bring him into your embrace,
I can make sure he won't lose heart.
All it takes is his heroic death,
Then you'll never again be apart."
As he saw the conflicting look cross her face,
He felt compassion for the love she barely began to start.
"Without my deal, you will never see him again."
And she cried, "Then we will forever be apart."
