I know, this isn't exactly one of my best poems. It's from Rachel's POV about the war and secrecy, I think. The rhythm isn't exactly right. Just a little warning there...
Keep it to Myself
~*~
Whenever I hear the cry of war,
Fear fills my solemn heart.
A pang of sadness through me runs,
Whenever sorrow's near.
When I see a family torn,
From this secret and brutal battle,
I silently beg, and quietly hope,
That it will stop today.
Whenever I kill,
And when I wonder who they were,
Even though I feel for them,
Even though I wish to cry out-
The sadness that I feel,
I believe the others count on my strength.
So I keep it to myself.
