One Voice, a song fic based on FFIX
written by Chibikan Star
It was the day of her sixteenth birthday. And all Garnet was think about how messed up everything was getting to be. She thought there had to be a way to bring everything back to a peaceful normal. She sat by her window looking out in sadness.
"Princess, the theater ship is approaching."
Garnet didn't look up when her bodyguard and best friend, Beatrix announced this.
"Your highness, is there something."
"Oh Bea, it's you. You said the ship is almost here?"
"Yes, is there something troubling you, your highness?"
"N... well actually. I'm worried about the kingdom, about Mother. I don't know why but everything just seems upside down. I have a strange feeling that our world isn't going to very peaceful anymore..." Garnet said getting up from her seat in looking further out the windw. She began to sing.

Some kids have and some kids don't
and some of us I'm wondering why
And Mom won't read the news at night
there's too much stuff that's making cry

We need some help
Down here on Earth
A thousand prayers A million words
But one voice was heard.

"Your highness, I think I understand." Beatrix told the princess as she began to add to the song.

A house, a yard, a neighbor
where you can ride your new bike to school
The kind of world
Where Mom and Dad still believe the golden rule

Life's not that simple
Down here on Earth
A thousand prayers a million words.
But one voice was heard

Garnet continued into the bridge shouting out her feelings and desires.

One voice one simple word
Hearts know what to say

Beatrix added once again letting the Princess know that she understood and felt the same way.

One dream can change the world
Keep believing til you find your way.

"Beatrix the other day, I snuck out of the palace. That was when I felt that things weren't right. I walked down to where a little boy stood holding a knife a friend had given to him some time earlier I guess to harm others intentionally. You know what he did?"

"No highness. What did he do?"

Yesterday while walking home
I saw some kid on Newbury Road
He pulled a dagger from his bag
and tossed it the river below.

The both finish as a praise to the gods.

Thanks for the help
Down here on Earth
A thousand prayers a million words.
But one voice was heard.
One voice was heard
One voice was heard.
