200 turns after the Red Star was destroyed, Pern is still thriving. Now thread free, the dragonriders can help Pern to reach it's full potential. Over the turns the planet has gone thrugh changes, but soon the scales will tip ferther as new things are uncoverd. All just because of one girl.

The Scales of Change: Introduction

Hey everyone! This is my first fanfiction (that I'm posting), so please no flames. I just thought I would have a go at an Eragon/Dragonriders of Pern crossover, as the only two that exist are unfinished. That and I had a random idea!

This story takes place after The White Dragon, but it ignores all cannon past that point.

Constructive criticism is welcome though. If you see something I miss please inform me and I will try to fix it. Thanks!

Summery

Years after the original series things have started to change. It all starts with a young girl with a thirst for exploration.

200 turns after the Red Star was destroyed everything was different, but still the same. Holds still give supplies to the dragonriders, but most of the old holds are gone. Lost to time and change. Only Benden still holds strong. New holds like Finner and Springing have come into existence to replace those lost. Firelizzards have changed as well. They now have different breeds of them. Some firelizzards only grow about the size of your hand while others get to be as large as a domestic feline.

All of the weyrs still exist and a few more have popped up over time. It's the dragons and their riders that have changed the most. The old-timers gave up and merged with the rest of the riders. Since there is no more thread to flame the riders do other stuff to further Pern. They now breed and distribute firelizzards, explore Pern, stop crime, keep the peace, and watch over Pern. The dragons continue to grow in size and lay eggs. Most clutches are small to medium sized. Greens lay eggs as well, since the dragons no longer chew firestone. The dragon's memory capacity has increased unexplainably. All queens now bust open any small eggs they lay on the hatching day. All hatchlings that survive are just smaller than the others.

This point now brings us to another huge change, but to explain this I must start at the beginning.

Now I plan to make this a multi-chapter fic but I cannot yet say how many chapters there will be. Any comments are welcome and this story is non beta-read so far.
