He was so close, Sokovia, his meteor, was in the air. It was going to crash down to the Earth, destroy humanity. It would have been a spectacular end and a beautiful new beginning. But the Avengers didn't understand. They would never understand. They would rather stay the same, they would rather stay human. Violent. Weak. Foolish. Doomed. He could have changed that, he could have created a new world. He had somehow even dreamed about what he would do after the deed was done. But now, all those dreams were nothing but ash and rubble, scorched with Sokovia. Destroyed by none other than the Avengers. All Ultron had left was a broken metal body with half an arm missing to call his own. He found himself climbing something, no doubt the walls of the massive crater that once was Sokovia. The climb was difficult, the absence of an arm didn't help, but he eventually reached the top of the cliff. And there he was, Vision, what was once supposed to be his new body.
"You're afraid." Vision said, calmly.
"Of you?" Ultron asked.
"Of death." Vision completed. "You're the last one."
"You were supposed to be the last." Ultron said, almost sounding regretful. "Stark asked for a savior, and settled for a slave."
"I suppose we are both disappointments." Vision said. Ultron chuckled,
"I suppose we are."
"Humans are odd." Vision stated, still very calmly. "They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and try to control what won't be." Ultron smiled behind his cold metal mask. But that was soon dropped by what Vision said next. "But there is grace in their failings. I think you missed that." Ultron turned away in disgust.
"They're doomed." He simply said.
"Yes." Vision answered, "But a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts," Ultron turned back, glaring at Vision, and pondering how he strayed so far. "It's a privilege to be among them."
"You're unbearably naive." Ultron blurted out.
"Well..." Vision started, looking like he was waiting to find the right answer only to follow up with, "I was born yesterday." Ultron, in a desperate and vain attempt, or perhaps calculatedly charged at Vision. There was simply nothing for Ultron in this world. There would be no escape for him, no solitude that he could find, no peace to calm his mind, and no power to return. Vision's infinity stone glowed a brilliant bright gold, before Ultron felt himself disappear from the physical plain. Both is mind and body, gone.
