Author Note: Some may remember this story but it's completely different from what it was almost a year ago (well, except the prologue. It's just been edited a bit). I've changed pretty much everything for those who did start reading this when I had it posted for the very first time. For those who are new to this story, then that's great! You didn't have to read my crappy first attempt at this story. Hopefully you'll enjoy the newer version - newcomers, and returning readers. Please leave a review and tell me your thoughts.
Summary: She always had a thing about tennis... EijixOC
Disclaimer: I do not own Prince of Tennis (or Tennis no Ohji-sama if you prefer), that belongs to Takeshi Konomi. I merely own the Chinatsu family.
Prologue
The dark sky above was covered with deep gray clouds crying down a soft drizzle. Sirens echoed around the block, the red light flickering against the puddles of water yelling for everyone to get out of the way but one girl stayed in place, eyes wide in horror at the sight before her. Crimson liquid leaked and stained the cemented sidewalk and the black tar of the street.
Her hands curled raking in the hems of the oversized blue, red and white jacket covering her body trying to protect her from the rain. Her body drenched from the rain freezing her body despite the heavy jacket on her shoulders that was meant to keep her warm but inside there was an empty feeling tugging at her heart as it pumped away with fear and dread. She felt numb; inside and out.
"Onii-chan?" she called out, her small voice drowned out with the racked of the world.
No response was given from the body lying in the middle of the red puddle right before her. His eyes were closed, no indication of opening at her call. She released one hand from the jacket hem and shakily reached out. She fell to her knees and lightly shook his shoulder careful to avoid the blood for her fear of touching it, hoping what happened wasn't true, wasn't real and was just a terrible nightmare.
But the body didn't stir.
Tears welded up in her eyes blurring her vision as she pulled away. She pushed herself to her feet, and swiftly took a step back away from the motionless corpse. There was no way of denying it. Her legs weakened, falling to her bottom and with her hands clutching the jacket again if live depended on it. Throwing her head back towards the sky she screamed as loud as she could, tears mixing with the rain. "Onii-chan!"
