The prompt was "metaphor." I don't own NCIS.

"He is just a toy, Tony. I do not understand why it is such a big problem that he cannot fly. He is a toy. Toys cannot fly," she said, looking over at Tony as the children's movie continued to play.

"It is a metaphor, Ziva. Disney tries to put metaphors and important life lessons in their movies all the time," DiNozzo replied, pausing the movie and looking over at her.

"What is it a metaphor for? Why does it matter, anyways?"

"When Buzz realizes he can't fly, that is a metaphor for the loss of innocence."

"This is a children's movie though, Tony! Children cannot possibly pick up on these hidden metaphors," Ziva said, confused. She looked at the paused screen, which had Buzz standing on top of the bed, wings out, about ready to try and fly.

"Children might not realize it when they first see it, Ziva, but when they get older and watch it again, they will see the hidden metaphor and understand better," he explained.

"I still think it is a stupid idea to put metaphors in children's movies."

"Ziva, you just don't understand the greatness that is Disney because you are not a natural born citizen," he joked, putting his arm around her shoulders.

"That is why I have you though, right? To teach me these things?" she asked, moving closer to him.

"Yes. That's why you have me," DiNozzo replied, kissing her forehead. Then, the senior field agent reached for the remote and started the movie from where they left off.

Ziva moved closer to him, happy that she had him to explain the pointless things.
