A/N: This story practically wrote itself. My brain didn't really turn on until I got to the ending, and that's probably why I'm not satisfied with it.

At any rate, here it is. Let me know what you think.

Disclaimer: I totally own them. Well, it's true in my world.

She walked into their shared office ready to start on the pile that had accumulated over the past few days, but instead she found a letter from Danny in its place.

Lindsay,

I love you- more than you'll ever know. You are so unlike any other woman I've ever met. Not only are you beautiful and sexy, you're smart and strong and stubborn as hell. I love your smile, your determination, the way you fidget when you're nervous and bite your lip when you're concentrating, the way your nose crinkles when you're confused, that child-like spark you get in your eyes when you're excited about something- I love absolutely everything about you. That being said (or written as it so happens), will you make me the happiest man in the entire world? Will you marry me?

With all the love in the world,

Danny

Her breathed caught in her throat, and tears welled up in her eyes. She glanced over at the door to find Danny. On one knee. Holding out a beautiful silver ring with a princess cut diamond.

"So what do you say, Montana?" he drawled in that oh-so-sexy New York accent. "Will ya marry me?"

She got out of her chair, walked over to where he was kneeling, and pulled him to his feet. Then she took his face in her hands and gave him one of those kisses that made him see stars. Staring into the deep blue oceans that he passed off as eyes she said, "yeah, I'll marry you."

He slid the ring on her finger, lifted her up and spun her around. The crowd that had gathered- consisting of Mac, Stella, Hawkes, Adam, Flack, Sid, and half a dozen lab techs- erupted into applause and a symphony of cheers.

The team- or the extended family, as Lindsay so so affectionately referred to them as- greeted them with warm hugs and, on Stella's part, congratulatory squeals.

Mac pulled Danny aside and, with a smile, said, "I have an overwhelming urge to say 'I told you so'."

Danny laughed. "I figured you'd say that."

"Love finally happened for you."

"Yeah it did." He looked over at Lindsay- his Lindsay- who was surrounded by a mob of lab techs (plus Stella) all prating over the ring, smiling brightly, and mouthing "I love you".

"I love you, too," he mouthed back.

Yeah life was good for Danny Messer, and it would only get better with Lindsay by his side.

There you go. Short and sweet. Maybe you'll be sweet too and leave me a review? (heh heh. That rhymed.)
