Star Gazing

Milky light engulfed the grassy field,
Pouring over the flowers, they yield
To the enticing of the spectral plain.
Wonder
Twinkling high
Pinpricks of light
Laughing down on the fields of grain
A smile from on high is champagne
Flowing down in waves
Joy
A boy
Young and white
Head tipped back smiles wane
Grief
The field now blood ingrained
Shimmering red liquid
Smiling faces now twisted
Pain
The boy again
Lay back on his thrown of green
Gazing at the wonder the night stars bring
Grief gone, understanding, acceptance
Peace
