Missing You
By Magelet

Sir Keladry of Mindelin looked - unseeing - at the beautiful scenery around her as
she rode through an oasis in the desert of southern Tortall. She missed her friends. But
most of all she missed Neal. Peachblossom sauntered slowly through the sands. Kel had
bought him once she was knighted.

Her past few months at Court had been pleasant. She'd only left so she might be a
little more like the Lioness, searching for adventure. Sometimes she and Neal would find
someplace under the stars and just sit there for hours and hours. He'd put his strong arms
around her, and she'd lean back on his taught chest, totally relaxed. Those times had been
wonderful. On the eve of her Ordeal, Cleon had purposed to her, but she had declined. He,
above almost everyone should know that her heart was in Neal's hand. Sure, she had had a
crush on him as a younger squire, but then had realized her mistake.

I'm missing you with my heart,
I'm missing you with my soul.
Baby, you've done your part,
The rest is in my control.

When Neal kissed her, nothing else existed. The world just melted away, leaving
nothing but her in his arms.

The constant ache in her heart made her gently halt. Kel then turned her mount and
galloped back north.

I shouldn't have left you, my sweet,
To try and accomplish this feat.
I'm coming back to your heart,
Soon I'll be in your strong arms.

The distance between her and her love was a five-day trip. Taking care to make sure
she didn't ride Peachblossom too hard, she made the trip in two, not stopping to rest.

When she arrived, she quickly asked Stefan to stable the horse, and raced in to Neal's
temporary quarters. She opened the door and found the room empty, where was Neal. From
there she went to Duke Baird, who informed her that Neal had departed for Queenscove the
day that she left. As he said this, he winked at her, as if he thought that he had left
because she did.
Thanking him hastily, she rushed back to the stables where her bags still were, and
re-saddled Peachblossom with a short explination to the hostler.

I'm getting closer, I know,
As my heart beats to and fro.
I can almost see your sweet smile,
Just one more small mile to go.

Queenscove was a beautiful place, but Kel was not there to sight-see. She was there
for Neal!

Luck must have been with her as she ran Peachblossom on. Neal was riding through a
nearby glade.

"Neal!" she cried, putting her heart into it. Her turned and seeing her nearing, smiled and
dismounted. As she reached him, she halted and she too, dismounted. "I missed you so much
that just I couldn't so anything else." She whispered through tears as they embraced tightly.

"Don't worry about it. If you like, we shall never part again. Kel, will you marry
me?" He asked pulling back to see her face.

"Of course, I will! I love you!" she burst, smiling with her whole tear-stained
face. "More than life itself!" she hugged him tightly, and he bowed his head slightly and
kissed her.
And I am here with you now,
My heart is beating so hard.
And I'll never let you go,
Your mine forever more!
