Lost In Melancholy
You turned to me and smiled.
Something so simple was the very thing that wove poisoned threads around my heart, holding me as a willing captive.
To this day I still remain following you, listening for your soft words whispered in the wind.
It's been so long I can't remember their sound. I remember the softness of your hair between my fingers, the sharpness of your slim features as you hung over me, like Death ever approaching, as you sought to break me.
Maybe I was a fool, in hindsight, to let some one like you – so cold like you – to capture and enslave me, to conquer and betray me, but I never once felt so much elation. And I struggle to think that I ever will.
o I'll wait and hope that some day you'll put the past behind you and come back home.
