Its been three years since the original, and people finally got me writing the sequel finally. I own nothing but the fic and anything original. Wish I did own Digimon though... sigh

Ticks of Time

By Firehedgehog

Prologue

The sky was pitch black with nary a star in sight, a chill brushed against him but his inner warmth made it ineffective against him. Smirking he crouched on the slate roof of a house before leaping to another, green eyes sparked with mischief as he easily landed on the snow covered rook of an apartment building.

Smiling he stood, japan was a wonderland covered with fresh snow, making the fact that there was little nature not as noticeable.

"Its only October, never thought we'd get a snowstorm this time of year," Flamon said to himself, it had stopped snowing a few hours ago but the warrior of flame had wanted to be free for awhile.

The rookie hybrid just stood there, knowing that humanity was asleep so that no one would notice him. It was beautiful, untouched till humanity once again ventured out.

Untouched, like he was... or rather his human form was of time now.

"Three years, not much time left now," Flamon whispered, he forced himself not to cry knowing that crying would do nothing to improve his situation.

He didn't have much longer till people realized he wasn't aging as Takuya. In three years he's come to realize his human age depended on the level of his Digital form. Flamon was child Takuya, the age he had worn the costume that day. Agunimon was a teenager, and well the rest were easy to guess from there.

He had no idea how to force himself to become his higher forms in the real world, and people would definitely notice if he suddenly jumped up in age. Soon he would have to leave, most likely to the Digital world where he would fit in easier. Would be extremely strange to see the reborn spirits, specially since as Takuya he had known the human half and the part of him that was Flamon had known the Digimon before they'd become spirits.

"This is a mess," Flamon sighed and began leaping between building heading home, either way the clock was ticking closer to departure, he would never have what he wanted.

Could he say goodbye to his family and friends, say goodbye to his own dimension?

Could he say goodbye to Zoe, one he truly could say he loved with all his heart.

Reality sucked.
