Humiliated. That was the only way to describe Kelly's feelings when he had found out who his father had been sleeping with. He knew his father had been cheating, but he hadn't known that it was with someone from school. Even after all these years, the shame would envelope him and at times, he had to fight the urge to deck the man. Well, that was no matter now seeing as how the man couldn't come back to Chicago after what he had done to Keeler after he kidnapped and abused Katie. And Kelly couldn't blame him for that one as he had been wanting to do the same thing. But it still didn't change what he had done and had put him and his mother through. Yeah, there was a part of him that hadn't forgiven him and he supposed that that part of him would always be there. It wasn't like he could talk about it with anyone. Well, except maybe April. Though he hadn't admitted to her that it had been a teacher until recently. And as he told her, he had felt the same feelings rush back. And then to have the memory of his mother accusing him of conspiring with Benny about it…no, he had never gotten over that. He had never been so humiliated in all of his life since then. Not even when he had found Renee Whaley cheating on him, though it had definitely given him some insight on how his mother had probably been feeling when she had discovered Benny's indiscretions. And maybe that was why he had taken it so hard: because he had had to deal with that garbage once already. Finding Renee with another man had caused another type of humiliation, but even that hadn't trumped the embarrassment of having his whole school knowing about his father's affair with his history teacher and whispering about it every time he walked by. He had been humiliated and sometimes he feared that he would never get over it. But if he didn't get over it, what did that say about him? Was it like people said? Would he become like his father? No. He wouldn't let that happen. He remembered what it had felt like to be humiliated and he had vowed that he would never put another person through that. And that was a vow he intended to keep no matter what.
