Gabriel wept as he looked over the scene of carnage in Alexandria. No one had yet moved, or uttered a sound for that matter. The swiftness of Rick's response to Deanna's acquiescence to allow the murder of Pete when he took Reg's life stunned everyone.

"I told you!" Gabriel said quietly, first. Then again and again, more insistently as he approached the two lifeless bodies.

Michonne looked at Rick and swallowed hard. Her hand rested on her firearm and she hesitated as one part told her to apprehend him, but the other knew this was coming all along. Nearby, Carol tried hard to repress the satisfaction she felt in ridding the closed community of a predator.

"Reg!" Deanna said in a whisper as she dropped to her knees and stroked his head as he lay lifeless on the ground.

"I told you!" Gabriel continued.

Deanna choked back a sob and wiped the tears from her eyes as she looked at Reg and listened to the near hysterical mad of faith. Her voice cracked as she spoke, her people stunned not only at Pete's violence, but Deanna's decision to allow Rick to act.

"You would do well to keep your silence," she said. "You were welcomed here just as all of Rick's group were. I knew no more about you than them. You proclaim they are evil and cannot be trusted, but so far each of them has proven themselves to be about the welfare of everyone here. I cannot say the same about you."

"What . . ." Gabriel stuttered as he scanned the faces surrounding him. "I am here to make sure . . ."

"You are here to serve yourself," Rick replied, breaking his silence. He still held the pistol in his hand that had felled Pete. Rick cocked his head and looked at Deanna, who simply nodded for him to continue.

"When we found you holed up in the church there was something missing in your story, something you refused to explain. Even now we don't know exactly what happened there, and you are doing nothing here to prove your worth. There is a perfectly good church here that you could utilize to do your good work and help people find hope, but you do nothing."

Gabriel stood silently as all eyes pierced on him.

Glenn nodded to Abraham and they moved toward Reg to pick him up as Deanna stood and straightened herself before turning to Gabriel. She took a few deep breaths as she made the transition back to the steely leader of her brood before addressing Gabriel.

"Rick is right," Deanna began. "You have been here long enough to see what is going on. You knew what kind of man he was," she said pointing at Pete's corpse. "You knew what he was doing to Jessie, but you said nothing, you never tried to counsel him or her."

Jessie stood to Deanna's left in a state of shock. She felt a mix of relief and sadness. Her best memories of life with Pete bounced around her head while the reality of the moment still seemed a distant concept. She was glad none of the children were here, but also dreaded trying to explain what happened to her son's father.

Michonne moved sideways a few steps so she could make eye contact with Rick. She cocked her head a little and made an effort to communicate without speaking concerning the urgency of the moment. It wouldn't be long before Pete would turn and taking care of the matter here was not acceptable. She appreciated the quick thinking of Glenn and Abraham to move Reg away to do the deed in private and knew the same was needed again.

"Everyone needs to go home," Deanna announced. "We will discuss this more in the light of day."

Rick stayed away from Pete, eyeing Jessie as Michonne, Carol and Eugene lifted Pete's body and moved him in the direction Abraham and Glenn had taken Reg. Once they were gone he tried to speak to Jessie.

"No. No, not now. Maybe not ever," she said, spinning on her heel to walk away.
