Hey everybody! I was just sitting in English class today and all of the sudden…WHAM! I had a massive daydream attack, and whadya know? It was about Twilight….again. Bella's POV. Everyone's a vampire.

DISCLAIMER: Still do not own Twilight. Still wish I did.

A Little Wager

It was just your average day in my life, well as average as my life as a vampire can be. I was sitting on the couch, thinking about my Edward of course, as per usual.

All of the sudden Emmett plopped down beside me. "Well, chickie," he said, while knowing that I hate being called that, "It's time for a rematch." It took me a minute to realize he was talking about the time we arm wrestled and he lost. Little did he know I had been working out in secret, waiting for the day he would challenge me again. I wasn't positive I'd win, but hey, what's life, even when it's eternal, without a little risk?

"Okay and how about this time a little wager?"

"You're on," was his immediate reply, as I knew it would be. "If I win, you let all the family except for Rose and me take you shopping for an ENTIRE day." Though much about me has changed, my aversion to shopping hasn't.

"Okay, and if I win you have to streak through Wal-Mart clucking like a chicken for 10 minutes at normal human speed in your birthday suit." Okay, I know it was cruel, but I'd rather have that fate than have Alice make me shop at every store under the sun.

"Let's go," said Emmett and he took off at a dead run, I immediately ran after. Almost a few seconds later, we were at an almost table-like rock.

He sat down on one side and propped up his elbow. "Well, chickie, let's go!" That did it. I focused completely as Emmett counted off. "Okay, ready, set, go!" It was a fierce battle of wills. Our hands locked. He almost got me several times, but as I thought of Alice dressing me in some silky piece of clothing, I put a crushing force behind my hand that sent Emmett's hand deep into the rock. "Ha!" I said. "Hope they have the air conditioning on as high as possible," I said with a smirk.

I called Edward on his cell phone. "You're so not gonna wanna miss this."

A few hours later

"I can't believe I'm doing this," said Emmett standing in a trench coat. Edward was standing next to me smiling.

"You should've thought about that before you challenged me," I said, still smirking after several hours.

"Well, you were supposed to lose!" he whined.

"Get over it big boy, and get the show on the road."

So he proceeded to run slowly through the store, clucking like a chicken. The teenagers ran away covering their eyes and giggling. Several middle-aged women gawked as discretely as possible, while a group of senior citizens shouted things like, "Nice buns!" or "Come over here, and I'll pinch your cheek!"

That was it for Edward's composure.
