"Daddy?"
Aang opened his eyes to see a little pair of blue eyes, directly level with his. He closed his eyes again.

"Daaaaddy," The little voice sang once more, and the little girl it belonged to prodded him.
"What is it Kya?" Aang asked, concerned. He sat up and turned toward his daughter, careful not to disturb his sleeping wife.

"I had a nightmare," The toddler frowned. "Can I sleep with you and momma tonight?"
"Sure, baby," Aang scooped Kya up into his arms and sat her on his lap. "Do you wanna tell daddy what your nightmare was about?"
"Um, I dreamed that you and momma went on an adventure, and you left me with Uncle Sokka, and it was a lot of fun and I played with Uncle Sokka and Auntie Suki and Yue, too, but then, when you were supposed to come home, you didn't," She looked up at her father with watery eyes.

"Don't cry, baby, it was just a dream," Aang wiped a tear from the little girls cheek. "I promise, me and momma will always come back for you, no matter how far we go."
Kya curled up in Aang's lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I want to go with you next time," she said.

"We'll see, Kya," Aang smiled.

"Okay, daddy," the little girl yawned and rubbed her eyes.

"I think it's time for you to sleep now," her father laid her down between him and Katara. As Kya sleepily curled up against him, Aang kissed his daughter's forehead and fell back to sleep.
