Time was not a friend of Alex's. It took so many things away from her, made her endure others for longer. Time made her watch people shift and change and die around her while she could only watch; if she was lucky she could prolong its effects, but it always took its toll. Time made her horrors drag out before her, seeming endless as she felt nothing but pain and loss; it made her best moments fleeting, gone in the blink of an eye. All the feelings that made her bright and bubbly were the first to go, quickly disappearing as the clock ticked before she could grab hold of them tight enough. With each minute, hour, day and year, it wrenched open her fingers forcing her to let go of everything she held close to her heart; nothing but empty shells of those that were. Her worst nightmares dragged out, all her pain and suffering only increasing with each minute, month and reminder. Her pain remained a freshly opened wound. Time, although dragging at times, was too short for anything of value.
"Forever." She had whispered lovingly into the brunette's ear.
"Forever." Olivia whispered back.
Forever would never be long enough.
A/N: Well, that was it. Review?
