Hot breaths, snarls, the scent of decay and animalistic musk as the beasts slammed into him, swept around him, nothing but pain and screaming, ripping and tearing, and he was dying all over again, facing it all over again, over and over again, and…
With a choked gasp Joseph sat straight up in his bed, biting his lower lip nearly hard enough to draw blood as his brown eyes swept the area, looking around, hand reaching for the handgun he'd left resting on the small table sitting on his side of the bed.
Nothing there….there was nothing there.. The only movement he could see was the shadows, thrown into the occasional dance by any vehicle driving by outside. The only sounds the soft tap of rain hitting the window, the storm from earlier having finally subsided, and the breaths from the slumbering man beside him.
Joseph made a face and sighed, rubbing his forehead as he moved to lie back down, rolling over so that he was curled up chest to back to Nicholai - seeking the familiarity of the man's scent and the scent of sweat to chase away the nightmare of what had once, a long time before, been something that had been horrid reality.
"Mnngh..?" The other stirred in his slumber, moved slightly towards wakefulness by the new attachment against him, causing the blond to press his lips to his shoulder and murmur lowly, "Sleep, Nikki." At least one of them should get a full night's sleep uninterrupted by something less than pleasant…and with that though Joseph closed his eyes, resting his head against Nicholai, and allowed himself to slowly drift back off once more.
