J.D. 'Scrubs' – There comes a time when every man needs to make a choice, whether it be a professional choice or whether it's a personal choice. In the end, it's about integrity, and it's about chasing after what you really want, even if that means showing you both care a little
She couldn't hide it any more, not with him spilling his feelings about her all over them, letting the love and hope and faith gush over them like a fire hydrant.
It didn't matter that Boden had sworn her to secrecy about everything, because now it was a part of her life, and element affecting the relationship with the man she deeply cared about.
She couldn't say love… not yet. She wasn't sure if she could ever love him, not with hoe she felt about Matt Casey.
But she told him anyway.
Looking back, she should have expected him to react like that; the man was currently his mentor, his chief; and the man had slept with his mother when he was a child, when the feelings had something do with the circumstances surrounding his father's death.
But now, even though for all intents and purposes, she feels like they're broken up, it's the feels that hit her.
Because she loves Matt Casey, and has for years, but Hallie just died.
Because she cares for Peter Mills, and has for months, but Peter is the one comforting Matt over his lost… whatever.
In the end, it's about making a choice. It's about integrity, and love, and chasing after what you really want, even if it means showing that you care, even if it means breaking another's heart.
So, because she loves Matt Casey, even though he just lost Hallie, she leaves the line of supportive friends and coworkers in the waiting room and approaches the grieving man and her now ex-boyfriend.
She pushes Peter out of the way and lets Matt fall on her, and holds him while he cries.
She makes a choice. It's a difficult one, and it will have many repercussions, but she makes it anyway.
Gabriella Dawson holds the man she loves whilst they all mourn the loss of a friend, and knows, no matter how much she loves him, she can't let him know just how much, because he is not ready.
In the end, when she looks back, neither is she.
