A/N: This is my first English Fanficition, my first about Stargate Atlantis and the first after 2 years of non writing. Just a short story written in 5 minutes. And if there're grammar mistakes I'm sorry. I'm a non-native English speaker and didn't pay much attention in school when we were doing the grammar part.
A Promise
They stood there since several minutes. No movement. No words. Just standing on Elizabeth's favourite balcony sharing silent grief.
Then Rodney pulled something out of his pocket that caught John's attention. As he recognized the picture he smiled softly.
"They pressed me into doing this," Rodney said with a silent voice.
John's smile widened. That sounded just like his friends. He took the picture from Rodney having a mixed feeling of grief and happiness when he remembered his friends.
The picture was taken three years ago in Antarctica. Elizabeth stood in the middle looking obviously happy. Something he had seen rarely in the last time. On her right was Carson having the same look on his face. And Rodney stood on her left with an annoyed look.
"You know, the picture was taken the day you arrived."
John looked up to him. "You mean the day when Carson tried to shoot me down with the drone."
Rodney smiled. "Yeah…"
Silence fell upon them again.
"I'll bring her back," John looked Rodney into his eyes "I promise."
Rodney just nodded.
